FISO 5AS 2019/20 Recruitment/General

This thread is intended as an assistance to RPG who will hopefully return to admin everyone's favourite FISO game. Below is also mainly a copy+paste from last year's thread with a couple of tweaks given the shorter timelines. I sincerely hope this is not taken as a sign of intent to take over the game as there is universal respect for the job done by Romyn and everyone at RPG productions and I definitely don't have the spreadsheet knowledge to do so.



This thread is intended as a general interest/team news/recruitment thread.

Threads that will follow are:-
1. Captains final declaration thread.
2. Official Game thread.

Please use THIS thread to
a. Say if a Team is disbanding, being created or if you know a team is reforming.
This is so I can get an idea of team numbers and is not a substitute for the Captains Declaration thread - only teams correctly declared there will be entered into the comp(s).

b. Post notices of any spare places you wish to fill.

c. Announce your wish to be part of a team if you're a noob or an existing player whose team is not being reformed.


38 is the maximum and if we don't get 38 teams will have bye weeks to keep the schedule similar to last year. (32/34 teams would be a good number to cut down a bit on the prep ... but whatever). My guess is that we will not be ready for GW1 but hopefully all will be good for a GW2 start.


The Virgins team is available for newcomers - please shout if you are new to FISO or FPL and wish to be in this team. It will also need a captain. (Last years members can form a new team within the Preferential period).


Deadlines
Given the shorter timelines compared to usual, it will be first come (declared) first served

Final Declaration - Thursday 15th August
Season start - Saturday 17th August

**Please note** - 5AS H2H will hopefully start GW2-GW4 - dependent on a few things I'm not sure about yet.

Hope that makes sense but I will clear up any queries if you have them.

Any issues that arise my decision will be final.

I'll kick off with the Reprobates who are reforming but with one lineup change. Ardrageen has decided against a contract extension and retires from the game at the top with a win in the Champions League. He has been replaced by new team member Neath Boy who comes with a similarly impressive CV. The Reprobates now boast 25 top 10k finishes in our ranks and now seek the Holy Grail of a 5AS league title.

The Compadres will be reforming as well. Lineup changes unknown so far, none intended. If any team member wishes to leave, then a few particular FISO members will be approached to join the team. The carrier pigeon is on his way.

The Untouchables will be back. One of our Special Task Force, samyadav, has activated a break clause in his contract. Samyadav has served with us for the last 2 years, initially on the Virgins books, and has helped us to 2 competitive league title challenges and a Champions League Quarter Final and Semi Final. We thank samyadav for his service in the fight against the Reprobates, Compadres, Rogues, Predators and Bad Boys who seem intent on marauding across our fair city and hope he returns to these parts soon.

We can also announce our new recruit is sdhough. This will be his first posting to a team, but his career file shows a record of someone who gets results and will help us to reclaim the streets.

After last seasons disappointing performance our captain and at least one other senior team member have retired from the Graduates. I will check with the - potentially - remaining team members who will take over the side and then look for a (Middle) Eastern UHNWI to finance our transfer plans.

Similar situation here for 5AS New Space. All five players are in the mini league. Four of them incl. myself confirmed by PM they'd like to be in the game for another season.

In my opinion our captain could declare our team or give me some further instructions. I'll just wait and see what happens.

Contrary to earlier submissions...

It is with great sadness that I write to inform you that our team, the Compadres, will not be returning to the 5AS H2H format this season. The Compadres were found at the start of season '17/'18 but some members, including the captain, now find themselves of very limited time to even play FPL, let alone share their thoughts on FISO. It is therefore necessary, however unbelievably disappointing, that I as team captain have to make this tough decision and release a club statement in which we, The Compadres, pull out the 5AS league for season '19/'20 at least.

I'd like to thank my teammates for their services in the past two seasons. And for those team captains who still seek for golden opportunities to find themselves a new team member: in two seasons our trophy cabinet has been filled with some wonderful prizes including a championship and a Golden Boot winner. So if any of The Compadres likes to continue their 5AS journey, you shouldn't hesitate.

I hope this message reaches you all well and I wish you all good luck for the season.

That's a great shame Joccki. The Compadres will surely enter the 5AS Hall of fame if one is ever created despite a relatively short existence.
