Last week I put in the Top Scorer (Mortensen) for a -4 hit and watched the player I took out (Omoijuanfro) score a hattrick.
Omoijuanfro has two hattricks now, either side of being in my team.

I did exactly the same  but it's a good lesson for fpl. Don't sell a guy who scored a hattrick just because he blanked once!

Sigurdardson here again - clearly one of the best footballers in Eliteserien. Was a bit worried about his history of injuries in Norway, probably due to the loads of artificial grass-pitches that is considered harder to especially back-muscles, but he's seriously in good shape atm.

If I had Helland I probably would consider him though. He's a good bet home to a shady Ålesund-defence.

1. Round of the cup yesterday (at least first round for Eliteserien-teams). Funny thing up north where they had to hire a professional snow-scooter to be ball-boy due to snow!

Might need one of those at Stadium of Light next time Moyes walks out of the tunnel.

Svendsen in, Helland captain

I feel I'm going in the right direction, even with my poor ranking which I'd argue is clearly due to a bad starting selection. It's much easier to remain disciplined when you have no idea who the players are!!!

Omo (K) Brochmann (V) . Both at home to Haugesund. I should have stuck with Bendtner but all the talk about Rosenborg not performing got to me in the end.

Rolantsson with his 21 points in two games since I got him in has been the best transfer so far. The late Viking goal in extra time only cost me a point from Barman and the Fire defence looked untroubled for most of the match until Rolantsson was subbed off in 78 to save his clean sheet points :o .

Thought I could explain the bit conservative yellow-card-rules in Norway.

A player gets one match ban when he hits 3 yellow cards, then another at 5, 7, 9 etc

That puts a lot of players at risk atm with two cards (Sivert Heltne Nilsen @ Brann should serve his ban coming weekend against Rosenborg since he recieved his third this weekend - he's not flagged yet though for some reason);

Flamur Kastrati - Sandefjord
Mostafa Abdellaoue - Aalesund
Adam Örn Arnarson - Aalesund
Marco Tagbajumi - Strømsgodset
Bassel Zakaria Jradi - Strømsgodset
Marcus Pedersen - Strømsgodset
Filip Kiss - Haugesund
Joachim Thomassen - Sarpsborg 08
Julian Ryerson - Viking
Karol Mets - Viking
Kristoffer Haugen - Viking
Anders Ågnes Konradsen - Rosenborg
Andreas Schjølberg Hanche-Olsen - Stabæk
Babacar Sarr - Molde
Bismar Gilberto Acosta Evans - Brann
Vito Wormgoor - Brann
Daniel Mikal Aas Berntsen - Vålerenga
Eirik Birkelund - Sogndal
Erling Knudtzon - Lillestrøm
Espen Ruud - Odds
Sondre Sørli - Kristiansund

That's ridiculous, doesn't that basically promote non-contact and require larger squads?

Yes, yes it is. It's been due to a reformation a long time, but the guys in charge wants the football to be very family-friendly. It's true that this promotes less contact - and that's something norwegian teams struggle to adapt from when trying to qualify for european-football.

Hell, professional boxing was just made legal in Norway (2014) - says it all, doesn't it?

Finally got a lucky break tonight! How is everyone finding it, anything a major difference from FPL? It seems to me that the league is much more balanced, ignoring Rosenberg.

I haven't looked at a league table yet, nor fixtures. I just choose players based on stats and whether their next fixture is home or away.

I'm enjoying it :-)

^^ Good fun so far but hard to pick a winning team. I did not even remember they were playing mid week so have not changed my line up. Missed Barmen's points on the bench.

I'm enjoying this - mostly due to a really good start of cource despite picking the wrong captain in 6 out of 9 weeks!

To me it's pretty much the same as FPL. I'm not a stats-guy, so it's all down to knowledge of the clubs/players and watching the games. That was the main reason for my Seck-transfer after watching his game against Molde where he was immense. That gave me two magnificent GW's with him!

Is Espen Ruud not nailed on now? Might switch to Grogaard if not.

He just served his second ban this season due to his fifth YC. He was not flagged for some reason before kickoff. He's nailed and safe as long as he stops getting those cards!

Have a look at the link here - the list of players with two cards now is quite remarkable

Hansen  Lie for GW12

I think this week has been a bit of a blip, and Lie picks up a crazy amount of BPs for a keeper. Is it just me, or is this far more unpredictable than FPL?

I get the attraction for Lie. BPs in Eliteserien is awarded by "experts" - and Lie have had a good year and gained much attention lately.

I'm not sure who (or how many) these "experts" are, nor their criteria, but I saw a post-match summary once where they revealed the BPs live. It seemed one of the commantary made the decision right there, but that's just my opinion of cource on one occasion. I'm usually correcting the commentators quite often from my sofa, and many seems to struggle with separating the africans, so some errors would be understandable! :D

I'm starting off against a ghost team which is currently languishing somewhere near the foot of the table. Here's hoping that there is no dead-bee sting :)

Most of the dead teams have Bentner as captain so if he gets a big haul a lot of good live teams will go out. :o RBK have good fixtures so it is possible. I have stayed away from Bentner but have brought back Jevtovic and Helland for the next few weeks.
I will wild card for the DGW 25 I think. Good luck with the cup.
