Victor Moses (Stoke/Chelsea)

Post by PlayPercentage »

Might as well start the Moses thread...

Yes, Wigan face Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd next.
The ymay concede a shed load of goals. But they will get goal-scoring opportunities.

Victor has been playing really well for the last month. Maybe it's time for a points explosion.

21 points in the last 3 weeks.
Chelsea will play their "high line". I fancy Wigan to score a couple.

(But now might not be the perfect time to get him in.)

stay will clear - here is the evidence from the topic - players due a goal.

According to our friends at Opta, Victor Moses's goal for Wigan against West Brom was his 46th shot of the season. No other player had taken as many consecutive shots without scoring. It's also worth noting that Moses hadn't scored since netting against West Brom 13 months ago.

Opta have given us the stats for the last two seasons and the current Premier League player who has now had the most consecutive shots in that time without scoring is Steven Pienaar. The Tottenham midfielder has had 43 shots since his last Premier League goal, which was scored for Everton against Manchester United in a 3-3 draw last September. However, he is yet to play in the top flight this term.

Next on the list is QPR winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, who has had 42 shots in the last two seasons without scoring. He has had 36 attempts so far this season and no other player has had that many shots this term without scoring a goal.

Most consecutive shots in the PL without scoring since the start of 2010/11 (current PL players only):

1. Steven Pienaar (43)
2. Shaun Wright-Phillips (42)
3. Cameron Jerome (39)
4. Tim Cahill (37)
5. Michael Essien (35)
6. Stewart Downing (33)
7. Lee Cattermole (30)
8. Adel Taarabt (29)
9. Lucas (28)
10. Thomas Rosicky (28)

Guess who scores first in the Europa League for Spurs? As you say, he was due a goal.

I'll take responsibility of restarting the annual Moses thread.

Does he get a slot in the Liverpool midfield/frontline? If so, 6.2 is bargain of the century?

Rogers has said he needed a winger to push Coutinho central, so that suggests he starts every game

How can he fit him in? Moses isn't great at getting back so I think Rodgers might want to keep Henderson in there, even with Gerrard and Lucas...if he plays instead of JH then they look too open

Mignolet
Back 4
Gerrard - Lucas
Henderson
Coutinho
Sturridge - Suarez

On a WC and taken a punt on Moses over Pablo Hernandez.

The general consensus is that he'll take Aspas' place and play on the left with Coutinho moving more central. If the bib theory proves right then he'll be starting on Monday. With 0.8% ownership could be a big differential.

I think BR will give him a chance to prove himself before the return of Suarez and can quite easily see a final front four of Sturridge, Suarez, Coutinho and Moses.

So I need Moses and Coutinho and Sturridge\Suarez; which is a tad tricky as apparently I need  zil, Walcott and Giroud :?

Surely Liverpool will be playing 4-2-3-1, with Moses in one of the wide positions in the 3?

You'd think so. Moses and Sterling are the only attacking players that can offer genuine width.

Starts tonight, could be decent value at 6.2 if he proves his worth.
