Ah the magic of the cup. Where half the teams don't qualify because dead teams with Tyrick Mitchell Timo Werner or the Southampton defence finally start firing. Where badly managed teams with Kante (c) can beat your carefully managed team. Where the person who starts this thread gets punted out in the first round.

All we need this week is a GW16 rank of 4194304. No problem, eh?

While all you said above is true, you can not complain about bad luck after having engaged well known, professional, public figures of Jinx loiterring this here locale... frequently.

Complaining about bad luck, bad beats etc. is what this thread is all about. I often start the FPL cup thread, taking on the sacrificial early exit that comes with it.

Even better than normal. Qualifying week has no Man City or Everton, then Cup Week 1 is a BGW, then Cup Week 2 is a DGW.

What a disaster this is going to be for a few of us.

A Mitchell clean sheet would have been a disaster and with Everton and City blanking those who are FH18 BB19 have now got a better chance.

I presume the median score is 30, with the mean score being 25 then?

Started this week at 52k. I’ve meticulously planned this season so far, and may not qualify with my worst single-week score in years

Hits don't count, but the number of transfers that you make in the GW will be a tiebreaker if your GW points is on the cusp of qualifying.

The wife is on 28 points with Robertson and Salah ( c ) to go.

According to FF Fix, the qualification benchmark for the cup is a princely 37. (Presumably some with 36 and a smaller number of transfers will also sneak in)

So I’m in thanks to my 46. Yay?!

Are you sure about that? from the Rules page (https://fantasy.premierleague.com/help/rules)

The winner (the team with the highest Gameweek score minus any transfer points), will progress to the second round

I'm interested as the team I've been drawn against isn't shy of taking hits.
