The Real Slim Shady wrote: 09 Mar 2019, 04:34 So, I've created a mini league for the run in of the season as all the blanks and DGWs appear.

Like many I still have all four chips remaining so it'll be interesting to see how we all do and which strategies work better.

There was one done in the 15-16 season - viewtopic.php?f=18&t=120421

The scoring will start from GW 31 as thats when the first blank will appear, and when most people will start using their chips.

If anyones interested;

9138-1367903

(If anyone has better idea for a name for the league feel free to share)
I was lucky enough to finish joint top of the FISO Chips league, so thought I may at least share my strategy. Unfortunately, it's not very exciting at all so not sure how much can be learned.

GW25 Triple Captain (so out of scope)
GW32 Free Hit
GW34 Wildcard
GW35 Bench Boost

So, 100% template use of chips

GW Points GWRank
31 30 (-4) 2.2m
32 112 75k
33 87 20k
34 40 5.0m
35 137 1k
36 97 (-4) 540k
37 50 2.6m
38 73 618k

Some pretty wild swings week to week. 5m rank in WC week was special, but followed up with 1k rank in GW35.

Captain choices were a mixed bag:

31 Salah 2pts
32 Aguero 10pts
33 Vardy 16pts
34 Duffy 1pt
35 Ageuro 7pts
36 Mane 13pts
37 Aguero 2pts
38 Aguero 6pts

Things I got right:

1. Not panicking after GW31 blank gameweek went badly, and sticking with the same players for GW33
2. Solid free hit in GW32 with Laporte, Hazard and Azpilicueta all going big. Shame about Kane, Pogba and Sterling!
3. Laporte on WC GW34 resulting in 2, 6, 9, 9, 12, 8 = 46 points in 5 weeks
4. Holding on to Duffy and Ryan after the GW34 Duffy captain debacle to add 20 points to a Bench Boost also including Deulofeu (17) and JWP (3). 40 points from bench boost.
5. Jumping off Trippier to TAA in GW36. 35 points from TAA in last 3 weeks compared to 2 points from Trippier

I think that's about it. As I said, definitely nothing spectacular. I made mistakes along the way too, but clearly got some major calls right.

I finished the season well...just hope for a better first half season next year!

Is there anywhere an aggregation of the strategies everyone in the league used? Would be interesting to see how the different strategies correlated to league position (if at all), viz, which strategies turned out successful in general (some roughly equal or a clear hierarchy?). :)
