the same commentators above, said something like: "PSG is without Neymar and Cavani, but paradoxically they're maybe playing BETTER WITHOUT them..." :?
Arsenal were better without Ian Wright as they passed it about more. I'm not a Neymar fan as he is greedy with not enough output, but hey ho....

22 starts this season, 19 goals and 9 assists

Yes it’s PSG and yes it’s France. But he is part of the reason PSG are so dominant.

Even for Brazil this season

6 starts, 3 goals and 6 assists.

At the World Cup (unfit and rusty)

5 starts, 2 goals, 1 assist

He is frustrating
He is a diving so and so
But he is a talent. He’s not Messi or Ronaldo (and he’s now being overshadowed by Mbappe too) but he is very efficient at what he does.

That's a very good result for Spurs tonight .... and for Man City & Liverpool in a roundabout way as it (probably) keeps them fighting on 2 fronts

I support a team that has been quite sh1te for quite a few years now... but watching Arsenal tonight, things don't look so pathetic at Newcastle any more.

Lacazette then. Suspended for the second leg must mean guaranteed FPL minutes for SOU?

It was always going to be difficult for Emery, like Moyes he's picking up the myriad of issues left behind, including the contracts.

Contracts aren't an issue at the moment in terms of performance on the pitch - or shouldn't be. Unless you mean people are on too long a contract hence won't be putting in the effort.

the bench is a bit tasty! Could see all 6 of those outfield players in the final next weekend, so Sane might be a happier bunny if he had not been selected today.

They play Schalke in champs league before that, so the team could be anything in the final next week.

I’d appreciate it if someone could tell the female commentator on the MOTD match between Brighton and Derby, that there is no need to shout ALL the time. Raising your voice when a goal is scored or a bad foul is committed but chill out lady......

She is a bit shouty :)

On the subject of annoying voices there are two that I just can't stand - (another two ladies I'm afraid although I'm sure there are men who are equally irritating)

The first is the women who does the voiceover for the Pink Casino adverts - found a copy on youtube and am pleased to see the comments there agree.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJwsGlpTOEI

and even worse is the one who does the voiceover for the "news" segments on the Sony Movie Channel - it's all over the place

I also think Gundogan might be ahead of Dsilva now as well on current form

Jonathan Pearce. Should have stuck to Robot Wars.
It's also completely unnecessary to be that fat.

Oh and Andy Townsend. Completely boring, idiotic comments and the only player he always fawns over is Andros Townsend. I think he believes he IS Andros Townsend.

And the Northern Irish bloke on R5 whose name I forget (Alan Green?). The ref walks onto the pitch. "He's done that wrong", ref wears black "another error from the ref". Ref carries a whistle "seriously, how is this ref a professional?".
Give it a rest.

Robyn Cowen (https://twitter.com/robyniocowen?lang=en). Didn't seem too bad to me. I don't know how much she has done but maybe she was excited about commentating for motd - getting towards the pinacle for the profession.

I think Murray Walker (F1) got in trouble once for saying women's voices are too high pitched for sports commentary. As above, we have plenty of examples of men doing it badly too.

Yes, hence ""at most". Think their first team is probably:

Ederson
Walker Otamendi/Stones Laporte Mendy
Fenandinho De Bruyne D Silva/Gundogan
Sterling Aguero B Silva

...but could be several others in places.

raoul wrote: 28 Jan 2019, 18:10 I agree. If you are Palace, or Millwall, or Wimbledon, you go into your next game with a sense of positivity. it does not guarantee anything, but it surely must improve your chances of a decent result.

Spurs are perfectly capable of trying hard in all competitions, as are all teams. There is far too much protection of players who cannot possibly give it their all every 3-4 days, apparently.
Being FA Cup weekend reminded me....

Here are their post FA Cup match results

Millwall D L D L - took a premier league scalp, havent registered a win since

Everton W L L L - beat Huddersfield (lost to City, Watford and Wolves

Wimbledon L L W L - one win in four despite a premier league scalp

West Ham L D D - lost to Wolves then draws with Liverpool and Palace.

Palace D W D - arguably done ok (saints, Fulham and West Ham their opponents)

Spurs W W W W - evidently no hangover

I’d say there is little evidence to support that there is a post win boost (or post defeat hangover).

I think I said a sense of positivity, and that it does not guarantee anything (I also said next game, in the singular).

So if anyone has the psychological analyses of how the players from those teams felt post fa cup and how positive they were feeling going into their next match, that would be the relevant evidence, not the results.

Doesn't play for a 'big' team. He clearly asked to be subbed and came off injured. Had that been Hazard the flag would have been on before he'd got off the pitch.

Just a dead leg (or a recurrence of a recent dead leg) for Jota according to Nuno:

Seems like he should be fine for GW27, so owners shouldn't worry too much I don't think. :)
