Doherty substituted with what looks like a knock. Hopefully just precautionary.

Anyone know of any reason AWB isn't playing today? Hoping it is just a rest?

I don't think that he has played any Cup game this season. Presumably Roy wants him for the league games. Will be interesting to see how far Palace have to go in the comp for a Cup game to be important enough to Hodgson for him to play AWB.

It's not just AWB; Hodgson has tended to play a reserve defence (apart from PVA) for the whole of the cup run. I suspect what happens in the QF depends on who Palace draw.

My guess is it was an OG.
For some reason my livescore app doesn't show OG lately...

Other games were showing OGs perfectly though.

I guess if you're Ajax, yellow cards count as goals.

some apps only show sub goals in the bench section? (although they should show in the summary regardless...)

0-0 at HT

Post by MoSe »

in Serie A 24 GWs have been played so far

in last 12, 40 matches out of 120 (33%) have ended goalless at halftime
in first 12, only 32/120 (27%) had

in the underway Champions League Round of16 ("eighth-finals")
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018%E2%8 ... kout_phase
ALL 6 matches played so far (out of 8) were goalless at halftime, with yesterdays two big ones also ending 0-0

I wonder whether the odds for 0-0 HT in tonite's last two Rof16 matches Atléti-Juve and Schalke-City, have been influenced by this "trend"

What was Otamendi supposed to do? It was ball to arm and he tried hiding his arm behind his body.

I don't know what he was trying to do. He moved his arm a lot, and the ball smacked it full on. Perhaps he should just not have moved his arm.

He moved his arm a lot? In what way? He tried to hide his arm behind his body. Had he not moved his arm it would have also hit his arm no?

He's not a LEGO doll that could simply take his arm off to avoid the ball hitting it..

Perhaps, but at least if he hadn't moved his arm then there would be no doubt. I don't like this practice of defenders trying to stick their arms behind their backs.

It is being reported that the pitchside screen was broken during the first half, which is why the referee was unable to review the first penalty decision. And the referee was told by the VAR to give the penalty (BBC text)

Otamendi now sent off

First penalty an utter joke, could understand the ref giving it in real time but not on VAR (and if the pitchside screen is broken, they have to take VAR out of play shurely?). Second penalty, the attacker fouled by Fernandinho was offside - another good spot by VAR!

And people wonder why City fans boo the UEFA anthem.

VAR gives the pictures its humans who take the decisions, officials not a system
