I expect to break the ton with a few to spare, as it'll go this GW.

Exactly half that. One more planned this season, any more would be unforeseen

Is this about all transfers (both free and paid-for); or only about what I thought "hits" meant, i.e., paid-for transfers?

64, probably par for the course for me. May take another couple before it's all over.

24 spent so far, but I’ll probably end up on 32, which will be my highest in the last three seasons.
I’m pretty sure I’ve regretted all six hits so far, but obviously the last two will be different, right?

Wow, lots of high numbers in here. I’m only on -20 for the season, I’ve always been of the opinion that they’re seldom worth it.

Re: Hits: are you Britknee?
I'm on 7 hits so far, that's -28p, which are uncharacteristically few for me. Indeed, this was my worst season (the 4th), until I halved my OR with FH35, and brought it back in line with the first two.
I mean: I was doing bad because I was taking not enough hits, I haven't given the game the proper dedication by far
I took a triple-hit once, and a double-hit in another GW
So those 7 hits were taken in 4gw out of 35 only.
I plan to take 1 more hit right tonite as I'm 0.1m short for Lukaku Kane straight.
And maybe 2 or 3 more for BB37

Re: Hits: are you Britknee?
-4pts
I knew I'd been relatively tight as I've been trying to follow established "rules" ... keep your transfer hits to a minimum, BB for a dbl-GW , FH for a shit one etc - following some sort of template of WC33, BB34, FH35 - which worked/lucked out to be fantastic
... I now have a semi-gash team so will no doubt add a few points hits to that hits total

Of course such topics are interesting to allow everyone to contribute their own personal "anecdotal" experience , but I can always add a more systematic approach, by taking the Forum League data I gathered every gw from the start of the season (thanx to Mav's tool) and report Hits volumes, distribution, clustering...

15. Makes the game more fun for me and I like to be proactive. Will probably reduce it or hopefully be a tad smarter with them next season - not taking one to bring in an injured Kane for example
Despite the genital measuring in the other thread I do like BB’s method of hitting his way through the DGW period, but more as an example of what can be achieved with hits AS WELL AS planning rather than just the latter

14 hits for -56 which is huge for me. That's double what I took all last season.

Re: Hits: are you Britknee?
I would love to see this sort of analysis. Last year I manually collected a lot of data and did hit analysis. What I found out was that the highest average score was correlated with moderate number of hits (5 to 8 for the season). Less transfers was as detrimental to the average final score as was too many transfers.MoSe wrote: ↑24 Apr 2018, 22:27 Of course such topics are interesting to allow everyone to contribute their own personal "anecdotal" experience , but I can always add a more systematic approach, by taking the Forum League data I gathered every gw from the start of the season (thanx to Mav's tool) and report Hits volumes, distribution, clustering...
This season I had 2 hits. One which was pure kneejerk and costed me at least 20 points and another which paid for itself but not immediately which means I could probably do a normal transfer instead.
The great thing about this game is that it suits many styles of play. On average I do believe that less hits pays in the long term ( although would love to see actual data) but it is very easy to find players who take a lot of hits and still are able to succeed. I don`t like to take hits and avoid them unless there is real emergency because of injuries. But I wouldn`t be bold enough to tell others how to play their game.

Only 52 points in hits so far but to quote Ian Dury " hit me, hit me, Hit mee"

Re: Hits: are you Britknee?
Would be interested to see your analysis MoSe.
It will obviously be difficult/impossible to draw any real conclusion about the number of hits.
ie more hits, fewer overall points will just as likely point to a struggling team that needed frequent surgery as will make any sort of conclusive proof that hits are detrimental.
Might be good if we can look at the FH, BB, DGW and BGW performances across the FISO spectrum thought. That might offer something to do whilst England play Panama in a dead rubber.

96 including a -16 last week that netted a 24 point gain and set me up well for the end of season run in.
