Bench boost vs Triple Captain - GW37 dilemma
So, my dilemma is I have both these chips and I'm unsure which is going to provide the best return in the DGW.
I could TC Salah against Stoke this week and use the bench boost when Alonso is back in 37 or just go with a nearly full bench this week.
Not sure there is much point in saving either till the last week?
Anyone else in the same boat?

Not in the same boat but most will be TC Kane in 37.
What will your bench be for 36/37/38?

I'd BB37, it's simple maths, you'll get one more games out of your squad.

Re: Bench boost vs Triple Captain - GW37 dilemma
I'm BB-ing in 38 having both chips left - there's some cheap players with strong fixtures in 38 - Palace, West Ham, Burnley, Swansea, Newcastle (ish)... However, this is mainly a strategic move from me for mini leagues in that the guys I'm up against will be TC-ing in 37 and I'm slightly ahead so I'd rather match them in 37 then go into 38 with 4 extra players

Re: Bench boost vs Triple Captain - GW37 dilemma
I'm trying to remember from previous seasons how much teams put out their first choice eleven on the final week of the season. Players rested in a sgw can potentially kill your BB. If I was you I'd probably be tempted to BB in 37 and TC in 38. The chips are all a bit of a lottery in some ways, based as they are on performance in a single week, so go with your gut rather than trying to analyse too much.

That's a partial argument. Would you rather get 4 extra games from 2-or-3 pointer bench players, or 1 extra game of your captain?Tacalabala wrote: ↑24 Apr 2018, 07:58 I'd BB37, it's simple maths, you'll get one more games out of your squad.
On my season, it's damn close, here's my maths
Excluding three reduced GWs (21,31,35) and my BB week (34), I've had 258 points on my bench in 31 weeks. That's 8.3 per week. That's my value of playing a BB chip in a regular week; double that if I use it in a DGW (with a full DGW bench). (Possibly a bit higher because I'd make extra sure that my bench players are playing)
Excluding two DGWs (22,34), I've had 261 captain points in 33 weeks, 7.9 per week. So TC is worth 7.9 in a regular week; or double that in a DGW
Almost a coin flip, though BB edges it.

Surely you can’t BB and TC the same game week??

Exactly why he should just match the TC pick(s).Aldershot Rejects wrote: ↑24 Apr 2018, 10:57 I'm trying to remember from previous seasons how much teams put out their first choice eleven on the final week of the season. Rather than gambling on a bench boost at least matching their selection.... as he’s leading, just match their choice. Not going to lose any ground that way.
Should still get a slight edge from the BB (even if he’s got 12 players instead of 15).

If he's leading and trying to hold onto a lead that's true.

Re: Bench boost vs Triple Captain - GW37 dilemma
The way I read it there is only one chip per week.
To suckitandsee
The TC is the most rewarding, but also most risky chip:
Spurs in decline and Kane not on fire
Mo Salah clearly the best bet in form of consistency is playing away to Chelsea only in the DGW
And with the City players you risk that they will be rotated.
I personally would go for BB in the DGW 37, should you have 15 players with double fixtures. (more balanced risk)
and TC preferably in GW36.
But as someone else mentioned above, it depends on your own positioning.

Thanks for all the valuable input folks - it's given me food for thought and solidified what my gut has been telling me, which is to go for the BB in the DGW.

I plan to bench boost 37 . TC 38 .
But if the BB doesn't look that solid at the time I will swap

Are you guys going to be using your Bench boost or Triple Captain chips in the Double game week
Well I have still got both chips. And I'm thinking that using Bench boost might get me more points. But watching Man City today, and the amount of goals they score each match. And also the form of Sterling and Jesus is making me think that using the Triple captain on either of those players might just get me lot more points as they have great fixtures

Re: Bench boost vs Triple Captain - GW37 dilemma
Same dilemma here. I have both chips still and used my wild cared last week to fill my squad withv15 potential doubles for next week. Now wondering if I might get more points using thevTC in Sterling or Jesus this week given their fixtures.

Re: Bench boost vs Triple Captain - GW37 dilemma
Going ahead with the bench boost
Seeing leicesters capitulation last week I don't think it's massively unrealistic that Kane gets a greater gw38 score than gw37. or maybe I'm fantasising a bit ...
