Is taking a lot of hits to get a full 11 justifiable in a blank game week?

Depends on whether they are players who can score well and whether or not they are players you really want for subsequent game weeks (not just players that you could live with).

ie take a hit to get Mane in... but don’t take a hit for a stoke defender (obviously polar extremes for illustrative purposes).
