for me its not a question of how many but more a question of who, with a view to the following gwk without causing maximum damage to your team
Burnley players dare i say it look appealing at this point then its a toss up. Finding a balance between 34 & 35 will be key to navigating both. I think you could get away with maybe only 6 dgkers. Avoid the mush like Soton and Leciester and ur laughing

Are you sure you want to do BB37?
Burnley no DGW in 37 and away to Arsenal - you got three Burnley players
Liverpool away to Chelsea (Firmino)
Even if there is no injury, you will need quite some transfers for BB.
I am most interested in Gudmundson, since I also have him.
If he is fit again (see link below), maybe this week BB looks better with a (-4) on Stephens.

Food for thought.
Has anyone more information on Gudmundson?

Re: DGW34 - How many doublers will you have on board?
As there were no fresh news on Gudmundsson, and even if he's fit I figure he'd be not certain to play both, I realised I'd have needed to take 2 hits to field 14 Doubles + Firmino, because I'd have had to replace Stephens too.
And the hits would have to be taken for the benchers (OK, I could have funded Kane instead of Lukaku...) only to be able to play the BB chip now
Besides, Stephens could come good for 36-37
I haven't laid out a precise plan for DGW37 yet, but I had the feeling that some hits were in order anyway.
I feel much more willing to take some hit(S) for 36-37, to fine-tune the whole squad and collaterally provide some BB bench,
rather than now just to replace Gud+Steph on my BB
anyway yes, your considerations are correct, I'll probably want Auba back, and some Spur and City asset for DGW37
at least 4 and probably 5 transfers will be needed after FH35. With only 2 FT this means that yes, I'm willing to take 2 or 3 hits over 36-37, if not 4

I take your point - especially now that Firmino is a doubt.
Maybe good news on Gudmundson, if it is of interest:
Gudmundsson (calf) has a chance to play in Saturday's match with Leicester City after returning to training this week, according to manager Sean Dyche. "Provided there's no reaction overnight he'll certainly be back in the thinking."
