Weird isn't it? They've gone for the leaked team in full, except Firmino up top for some reason.

That makes it even weirder as they made at least some alterations now based on the leaked line up, e.g. replacing Robertson with Moreno who wasn't there when I posted the above. They also simply removed the text about Robertson while keeping the "... Alberto Moreno provides an alternative at left-back" in.

Ah well.

Some were rested last week so may play but they are mostly defenders where we have some cover. 2 spare strikers too so Salah should be rested but Bobby F may start.

No real options in midfield now so would be royally screwed if any of the 3 got hurt on saturday. Might have to get Grujic back from Cardiff! No idea what Klopp will do.

According to AE it looks like Mane won't play against Stoke, so it's hard to imagine the lineup without Salah, but we'll hopefully know more tomorrow.

You have to ask the question, why the hell didn't Liverpool buy in winter after the sale of Coutinho? They didn't have to spend a fortune, just bring in someone for depth until summer.

Also they have Grujic, Origi and Sturridge out on loan? Not the best squad management IMO, esepcially with injury prone players in your squad like Henderson, Lallana, Can, Oxlade Chamberlain and Mane, they all have lengthy injury histories. Bad foresight - We're saying this for the 2nd year running too.

Salah and Mane played last week so can see them both being rested. Firmino/Ings/Solanke is my bet up top.

As I mentioned earlier, half of them are not realiable and are usually out for half the season injured. Lallana and Henderson have literally spent more time in hospital than they have spent on the pitch in the last few seasons.

Ox has a very bad history with injuries.

Can is a little better but still not great.

In footy you have to predict the worst, especially since they were still in the FA Cup and UCL when they sold Coutinho, the squad looked thin already before that. I don't think it's great squad management, Klopp struggled with this last season when he burnt the players out and they limped into top 4.

He's a great manager, but sometimes I just think he doesn't handle the condition of them team very well. Given his style of football he needs a large squad and to be wary a lot of his squad is injury prone, particuarly in the midfield.



We'll see if the Woodburn kid can fill the void.

Can't check now, but not sure when was the last time two of the Salah-Mane-Firmino were rested/benched?

After the Roma match, Klopp didn't sound like Stoke game is irrelevant and he was very annoyed with the Wba result. They have Chelsea next and just can't imagine Klopp leaving the things open for the final day.
He did also say that he substituted Salah as he didn't want him to get injured, so a bit ambiguous to be honest, but we don't really need to talk about this or at least not until we are sure there will be no leaked team news.

A tad thin admittedly but they had already bought 2 Coutinho replacements (of sorts) in Salah and Ox.

Easy with hindsight but everyone was fit in January with Lallana back so it made sense to let Grujic and Sturridge get game time elsewhere.

Klopp wouldn't have bought just anybody to be a reserve, he'd want them for the future and with Keita coming in there wasn't much scope for that. Better to give a kid a chance occasionally.

It's not in hindsight for me, at the time I was thinking it was a big risk not bringing in anyone for Coutinho, but fair enough, I'm just an over opinonated keyboard manager at the end of the day .

I'd like to see Woodburn get a chance in the league, he seemed to do well last season but hasn't featured much lately? I'm surprised because he was playing well for Wales too.
