Would picking Cenk Tosun as the cheap option be a good idea

Post by Kris_fiso »

I think he will play against Tottenham. So i think it will be really interesting to see how he does as he is a good player

The stats are dark and full of errors.

He's priced well, but there's no need really to bring him in this week given the fixture. I'd agree that he's a wait and see for now.

The main question in my mind would be if he's good enough for F2 or significantly better than the likes of Wilson for F3.

Not sure if they still do, when I used to inhabit the TFF parts of FISO we'd call him a CK (Carlos Kickaball): Someone new to the League who could be brilliant or could bomb; someone to pop on the watch list and move early-ish once he's proven himself.
Plus with Spurs, Leicester and Arsenal in the next four, I'd wait until GW27 at the earliest.

By contrast, if Walcott moves to Everton he's a proven FPL points machine when he gets good game time. There's still the poor fixture issue and lack of match fitness, but like for like, there's less risk

If Walcott moved, Finisher1 would have a field day warning of the impending Walcott trap :)

I'd probably transfer him in though!

A turkish member here
Cenk is a complete striker, doesnt have any great weaknesses, great at heading, finishing and technique, he is also very versatile on the pitch.
He played behind the striker, at the right wing or as a lone striker and always contributed greatly.
ofcourse this is THE premier league, and the expectations will be much higher- so he'll need a time to adapt- i dont expect him to be man of the match against Spurs BUT within just a couple of weeks, he'll definitely score goals and provide assists.

Thanks oxxi, always good to have the viewpoint of someone who's seen the player in question!

Everton's fixtures look very good to me after this week. 3 good home games in the next 4 and only a couple of trickyish away games in the next 8. I am warming to the idea. Would mean a switch to 3-4-3 for me though.

Very brave (but they say fortune favours the brave).
I can’t see him being anything other than bang average at best. I’ve not seen a huge amount of him, so I could be premature in dismissing him.

I'll wait to see how he plays first. I have no problem picking a player from day 1 if I've seen him play before, but I know nothing about this guy.

If they play similar minutes, over the rest of the season I think Benteke could do better for a similar price. Hard to judge against Spurs, but he looks like a target man who can knock it down and hold it up, rather than a goal machine.

They still do and he is. :)

7.5m is not cheap. Plays for a bottom half team. Only ever scored a few goals in a weak league. Nobody has ever heard of him. Did nowt in his first match.

What could go wrong?
