It was surprisingly quick!
Nice - liking the logic/method there 8-)

wow
sobering and humbling ;)
may I ask in which age bracket do you fall, Kevlar?
please do tell me you're under 30 :D
that was something I'd have immediately thought of, ......20 or 30 years ago...
now I just rely on brute force rather than thought out solutions :o

indeed,
there have been 19 FPL Cup rounds so far (wow, 19, you survived a long way, Joshhhhhua!)
you take just ANY random team, and you follow the link of the team who eliminated it
in the worst case, you need 19 clicks
much fewer if you pick or find a link to a team who had a long winning streak

you just need luck to avoid always starting with teams inside the same QF bracket ;)

very well done, Kevlar

Awesome, isn't it? That reminded me of one situation when my best friend's wife had to fill out some excel table in work with around 10000 new deliveries and he said to her that we could have made a script for her and she answered:"You and your pal? You would first spend a day arguing which programming language to use, then one day for coding and then three days arguing why it didn't work and I finished it in 10 hours!"
She was right.

RPG ends to البوب as well, in 12 clicks :)

while Pirlo's Beard ends to River No Paddle in 10 clicks, as does Andybarrel in just 4

Obviously Kevlar has already realised the logical conclusion and found the answers anyway, but for future reference it's possible to replicate his method via a script, just start with team id 1, and load the following JSON url:

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/drf/entry/1/cup

Then look at the entries cup matches, find the last one in the list and assuming that it's not at the index that corresponds to the target GW (GW35) then pick the "winning_entry" field:

Image

Then iterate, loading the cup data for 119979 in this case, and keep going till you find a GW35 match.

Once you get a GW35 matchup record it and then repeat the entire process, starting at team id 2 and keep going until you found all 4 matches. You'd have to code for teams that didn't qualify for the cup, I would imagine they will either have a missing element for "cup_matches" or the collection will be empty.

As someone in their 30s that hasn't learnt to code (yet!) why would you start at team ID 1?

I selected my teams by picking those near the top of the overall league, as I assumed most of those would been performing well enough in time to qualify for the cup, whereas starting at ID1 might result in searching through a tonne of dead teams before even finding one that was even in the cup.
Would it be easy to code to scroll through the overall league, starting from 1st position?

I genuinely thought I was going for the brute force method btw! Had the question been asked a gameweek ago I wouldn't have tried.

A top team has more points than most, thus on average it scored higher than most, in more gws than avg..
Thus has indeed higher chances to have won more Cup Matches, although the correlation is not direct and immediate.

After 19 rounds we're left with 8 teams.
Each one is the end point of a KO bracket 2^19 teams strong, that is 500k losing teams leading to that single one.
With two teams in a QF fixture, we have 1 million teams behind each one of the 4 QF.

Not counting the non-qualified teams, there's the theoretical risk to randomly leave all the 1 million teams from a same QF for last. That is, we could risk to pick 3 million teams in the worst case, before yet finding one leading to the 4th QF.

I figure this is about the chance all the oxygen molecules in a room find themselves all on the same side of a room at the same time (making you choke in the other side) ;)

Currently 38 v 26 to Joshhhua - with his Kane & Son vs opponents Kane(c) & Son - no hits for either.

Joshhhua hoping Harry has a quiet night.

Good luck

Thanks Romyn. Yeah, a pretty poor gw for me as lot of things have gone wrong. If only one of the things happened like Milivojevic taking penalty or Salah scoring one on one or TAA scoring from Salah`s pass or ref giving deserved penalty to Liverpool I would have been already through, but one always concentrates on negative things. My opponent did have Willian benched, Lukaku injured and didn`t play his BB, so it is probably fair that Kane decides tonight. He did score "only" 3 goals in 9 games against Watford, but he has a tendency to punish me whenever he can and yes, I benched him for his haul against Chelsea in his breakthrough season and will never forget that.

Two goals and three bonus points would be 11 points. That’d be enough.
And if he scores more than that, amongst the whooping and hollering from those who captained him there’ll be loads of us empathising with you

Actually two goals and 3 bps would be 13 points, but in that case one yc would also be enough.

For Kane? Ah, plus appearance points. I didn’t count the appearance points. Better hope that someone gets a glancing touch on that second attempt then

Despicable Mee vs البوب

Nibelungen vs val
12p would be ok too, in case of a draw Joshhhhua would qualify having scored 1 more Goal

He almost did. Set Sissoko up for a great chance late on and that would have been 11 or 12 points, perfect for us both. But your win is more important. :)

A huge shout out for Joshhhua in the SF of the FPL Cup. As far as I can tell he is 68-69 with his opponent with one game remaining. Josh has DDG, Smalling and Pogba to come, his opponent is all out. :D

Fantastic balls this week too because Josh had his TC left and saved it for the final. Way to go!

Thanks guys. If it weren`t for FISO and especially Ruth`s brilliance I would never be in this position, so big thanks to all of you!

Because Kane didn`t get any BPS I`ll have 1 point less than my opponent, so let`s hope those 3 will show up tomorrow.

You'd assume that would be a given - but seeing as how this GW has panned out so far I won't put it past them not managing it. Fingers crossed they all play to start with and then them not to balls it up.
