Re: GW12 Captain
If somebody thinks it is relevant, Kane never blanked against Arsenal in the PL, scoring 6 goals in 5 games.
Lukaku played 8 games against Newcastle (in 6 games played more than 60 minutes) scoring 5 goals and getting 4 assists.
Kane is still kind of coming back from injury, Pogba may be back and Lukaku will probably score during IB, but you just know Kane will troll us again with another brace.

I would have captained Kane, but since I am going to the game I am definitely captaining Kane

I get why people use facts like these so I'm not knocking the fact you've brought them up but personally I've never understood why they're used.Joshhua wrote: ↑08 Nov 2017, 15:53 If somebody thinks it is relevant, Kane never blanked against Arsenal in the PL, scoring 6 goals in 5 games.

Lukaku's last 8 games v Newcastle will have been against sides managed by Pardew, Carver and McLaren
Different players/managers occur every season, a year is such a long time in football to be comparing stats like these. Just my take on it, anyway.

Yes, of course. I also wouldn`t take these stats as only criteria when choosing a captain (although I would of probably done better if I did ), but there are some players that like to play against certain teams, eg. Hazard against Bournemouth, Aguero against Watford, Suarez against Norwich. So, although it should not be decisive factor, think it shouldn`t be completely disregarded also.

Every good striker has his bunnies, though...
FFS pointed out the other day that Kane does well against Arsenal, also that he does badly against Palace, one of the reasons I didn't bring him in. By that logic I should now be bringing him in, but I really don't want to. I don't think I could trust him to captain him anyway.

Lukaku (c) salah (vc) for now. Tempted by Kane but wary of him still shaking off his niggles. International break has come at a good time though

Not that I’ve actually got Lukaku in my squad right now, but assuming I bring him in, he’ll get the band.

Re: GW12 Captain
Right now Lukaku captain. Just feel Utd will be too strong for us. Lascelles injury is still a bit unknown too, Benitez said: "He’s been working with the physios and getting a little bit better, but it’s slow. We have to wait a couple of days, and then without inflammation we’ll see how it is. NLD is always a good game but with Arsenal who knows. Kane as people pointed out has a good history, Salah on form but don't Saints play very well defensively away from home? West Brom are terrible right now.... Another lottery.

Re: GW12 Captain
I will stick with Jesus.
Always a risk of being rotated, but even if he is subbed on late he can score (like the last game) and also there is always a haul potiential. So Jesus (c) and Sane (vc) as the last three weeks for me.

Lukaku is so bad that he'll probably score a brace in the last 5 mins of the game. I'm more tempted to bring Rashford in anyway.

If Pogba is back it is certainly going on Lukaku. Otherwise I think I'll give it to Kane.

Re: GW12 Captain
Salah (c) for sure. I think he's a strong enough alternative to not bring in Lukaku specifically to (c) him.
VC will depend on who plays in the international matches in the next 2 days.
A player's record against a specific team is totally irrelevant in my opinion, the Kane-Arsenal thing is of no interest to me.

Re: GW12 Captain
I think Aguero is a better captain option outright than lukaku IF as seems likely he doesn't play for Argentina tomorrow and Jesus does play for Brazil. I don't think lukaku is the best captain option either this GW or next and won't bring him in.

Re: GW12 Captain
Yeah, I still might bring him in for the Brighton game but United generally aren't that appealing to me at the minute.
I do have a nagging doubt about Salah though as Southampton have been a bit of a bogey team for Liverpool recently and I'd expect them to be very defensive.

No Lukaku for me, so probabaly Salah or Kane, I'm not sure which.
Might bring Rashford in, but don't think I'd trust him with the captaincy.

Re: GW12 Captain
Three goals in two internationals for Lukaku suggests he is back in form. I'll probably bring him in and captain him. My only doubt is that Newcastle don't concede many and will probably go to Old Trafford in a very defensive mindset.

We won't have Lascelles and suggestions of other injuries. I worry for us and can see something like 3-0 united.

Re: GW12 Captain
Pogba remains a doubt as well. His possible exclusion would reduce Rom's points potential, imo.
I'm still captaining him though.
