Re: Budget strikers
Hernandez the only one that interests me because I think he is under-priced. But not till GW4 or so. I'll take a look first (and their first 3 games are all away anyway).

Re: Budget strikers
Iheanacho signs for Leics. Priced at 7m, presumably he will be partnering Vardy, surely Leicester haven't bought a sub for 25m?

Re: Budget strikers
Iheanacho and Chicharito both interest me greatly, but post wildcard.
Still can't deicide between Gayle and Austin to start with significant doubts over both. Starting to give vague consideration to going with a rotter and Zaha as fifth mid instead, if neither of them stake a real claim in the next week or so.

Yes, that is really tempting, could score some goals for sure in these fixtures! That also means potential to get a knee-jerk-price-raise aswell.13Psychopaths wrote: ↑03 Aug 2017, 17:23Chaldi as Philips is injered atm.Skrtel wrote: ↑03 Aug 2017, 08:51I was thinking to actually use a WBA attacking player since they're fixtures are great. But was thinking of putting Rod in my team as they have Bormouth (H) Burnley (A) Stoke (H). And he's been doing well pre season.

Re: Budget strikers
its a really tough group this year, the cheapest striker I'm happy with is Benteke, but he's too costly to be budget.
As mentioned by others I've looked at just going for a 4.5 striker and having Kane & Lukaku as my front two with the money invested elsewhere.
I've even looked at having just one striker - Lukaku, and going for a crazy midfield of something like 8m/10m/9.5m/9m/7m, which still allows a defence that could include the likes of Valencia, Kompany, Trippier etc it's certainly the team that's given me the most good players but very inflexible as It would be 4-5-1 each week.
Hoping somebody fires in these last few games, if not most likely Benteke as my "budget" striker.

Re: Budget strikers
The thing is that players like Austin and J Rod might score well in the early fixtures so that you can both gain the points they producing and also sell them for a higher value when the fixtures deteriorates.
I think that it is essential to think smart at the start with fixtures/price changes so that u can get a good head start and be able to afford all the big scorers later.

Re: Budget strikers
I'd be interested in what The Username says, but he started on the wing when they played a back 4 and from what I've read Sandro wasn't great in the 2 up to when they played the back three last night, so maybe he has a place in both formations.Billy Bongo wrote: ↑03 Aug 2017, 21:29 Calvert Lewin 5m anyone? I think he's the best possible enabler for a 442, but still puts an extra 0.5 on the bench (and is very risky obviously).

For me he isn't a reliable starter, he will get minutes of the bench and may start a few, either through the center or on the flanks as a inside forward but he is far from being first choice. He is a player who is rated though especially by Koeman and i can see him eventually playing though the middle but i would be amazed if he gets 90 mins every week this season.
Many Evertonians struggle to see why he has been given as much of an opportunity in the team as he has. Koeman obviously sees something in him in training that hasnt transferred onto the pitch as yet, he is a keen lad though and puts in a shift.
The goal he got last night was lucky in fairness the keeper was poor for it. Sigurrdson will arrive this week and another centre forward will arrive before the window shuts, Giroud being the main target. So his chances of starting become increasingly slim and a good season will be some starts but will be a sub for the majority. In the lads favor he seems to be the scorer of important goals, he scored in the derby last year, in the underage world cup final and last night. Hes far from the finished product though.
Of interest was the Everton formation last night, they went 3 at the back, with Baines and Davies at wingback, Morgan and Gueye in the double pivot. Klassen just ahead and Sandro and Rooney up front:
-------Pickford
---Jags-Keane-Williams
Baines-----Morg-Gueye----Davies
--------Klassen
Sandro------Rooney.
To be honest i wasnt impressed by many apart from Keane who looks a brilliant player, but it was that type of uninspiring game. Klassen got an assist for DCL's goal, put i dont know what to make of him at the moment, he does a lot of one touch things well, but makes some awful mistakes and generally keeps things ticking over, he is industrious rather then inspiring to be honest but it is early days. Of the summer signings so far Sandro and Keane have impressed me the most.

Re: Budget strikers
I'm backing Abraham. This could partly be heart over head but watching him several times last season the lad is quality and I think he'll step up well to the Prem. I'd also be surprised if there wasn't a clause for game time as the Newcastle fan said - I'm pretty sure we had that and had to work hard to persuade Chelsea to loan him to us last season. They want him to have time on the pitch to develop, not play reserves football.

I've currently got Abraham myself, he looks the only viable option at 5.5 or less for a 3-4-3. At the minute, my decision is De Bruyne + Abraham or Ndidi + Jesus...bristolciteh wrote: ↑04 Aug 2017, 17:12 I'm backing Abraham.
