His omission from the squad last night sealed my decision.

Aguero.

I was on Jesus, but last night has cast that into doubt. Don't have Kane, so I'll probably go with the same captain I've picked every week so far, Lukaku.

Football Hero wrote: 20 Sep 2017, 18:59 If I was on a wildcard right now and could choose any players, should I use this thread, (and poll), to select Kane over Aguero, because Kane has the most votes and is presumably therefore the best captain option this week?
I think there are more Kane owners than Aguero owners though; so the fact that most people selected Kane as a captain doesn't necessarily mean they prefer him as a captain in this GW, as they might not have Aguero.

For instance, I selected Lukaku, but I don't have Aguero and if I did, I'd captain him over Lukaku this week.
So doesn't it make this thread kind of pointless then, as there is too much ownership-bias affecting results and it doesn't really help you nail down what most people think is the best captain option in the upcoming week? That seems like more useful information to garner imo.

Not really - because the point of this thread has always been who are you captaining this week - not who is the best choice. I've never regarded this thread as an information source as such but a community thing. The ownership-bias is the whole point.

Pep went and threw a spaniard in my works by playing Jesus the full 90 in the diddy cup. I transferred in Jesus rather than Aguero this week (to avoid too much disruption to squad) and felt fairly optimistic about it. Regardless of how Jesus might do now I probably can't take the chance of captaining him, for fear of a non start. So I'm back to Kane, which is where I was before buying Jesus. A bottle of red, as suggested by Ruth, sounds a terrific idea.

How about we settle for a Kane hat-trick and an early Kun red card. Would that do?

Tough call this week.

I was torn between Kane and Jesus, but Jesus being a rotation risk/ potential early substitution will no doubt swing it to Kane (C).

I'm a little bit concerned that Man City could go crazy again on Saturday though and Aguero could be in for another big point score. Last week wasn't a disaster not owning him, but his ownership is going up very quickly now.

Anyone fancy a gamble on Morata?

Looks like Shawcross, Wimmer and Cameron out, Zouma is ineligible.

This leaves Martins Indi, Pieters, Johnson and another?

I have Kola in my squad but would prefer Walker as captain this week if I was picking a defender.

Playing safe with sir Harry. :?

Fair enough. I got Jesus, Kane and Morata and actually considering Morata or Jesus.
