So who's the cheap midfielder? Gross, Ritchie, choupo, jese, richarlison in contention. I'm leaning towards Ritchie with all his set pieces. I haven't watched gross play yet. Can anyone attest whether he's the real deal?

I went for Ritchie. He looks far more dangerous and Newcastle are playing well and have good fixtures.

I would rank them Ritchie >> Gross >> Richarlison > Jese > Choupo fwiw (ignoring prices).
Gross is a player I like a lot, excellent dead ball specialist etc. That said, with Shelvey out of the team now Ritchie has a monopoly for Newcastle and they are a pretty decent side overall, especially compared to Brighton and even Stoke imo.

He only started with Holgate due to injury.

I ended up going Shaqiri over Ritchie.

Shaqiri has looked good so far this year (as ritchie)

With Arsenal and Chelsea up next, there won't be too many rushing to get him in.

Richarlison and Choupo-Moting are both putting out some ridiculous underlying stats for their price. I currently have only Richarlison but may well have both of them soon.

Doucoure is Capoue. It won't last.

Brought Ritchie in for Richarlison just before he got the goal and now a goal/assist. Fingers crossed Ritchie gets something today.

Have both Ritchie and Richarlison. Ritchie I might get rid of in a few weeks but Richarlison I think we can leave there long term and the value will be great. No one else I really trust in that bracket. Perhaps Choupo when Stokes fixtures get better.

I agree Richarlison looks the stand out candidate. Really wish I hadn't transferred him out....he will come back in as soon as his fixtures ease.

Ashley Young has now played 90mins twice in a row and comes in at 4.9m. Is he a viable option at the moment? Probably not enough for a full on band wagon, but a couple of assists and people could start jumping on??

They have another midfielder at 4.9 who has scored 4 goals this season!

Shaq's going under the radar, with some good fixtures approaching he's my kind of punt.

Cresswell would be another.

Both have good stats too and fixtures.

Agreed, as long as he plays like has been lately Richarlison is a set and forget at 6.0

I said I'd keep hold of Richarlison if he did something special by GW8 and to be fair to him, I think he's probably done enough, so I don't think I can get rid of him now.

He might not have the greatest fixtures but if he can stay confident and keep scoring, I don't see why he won't be good value.

We have been searching for the cheap 4th mid and I think he will do for now. If between him and Ritchie they can keep dripping in points I'll be happy. At least with them I can allocate the budget elsewhere and not have to worry for a while. Feels as if when people start wanting to downgrade one of their mids to free up some cash for either def/atk then he will be the go to guy. Silva as a manager I like, he is playing attacking enough football and clearly likes Richarlison. Ticks all the boxes for me.
