Isn't Alderweirald supposed to be back by the end of January?

Toby Alderweireld (hamstrings) is recovering well. Still training individually, but expected to join up with the squad next week. He’ll be fully fit in February.

Does Son historically struggle against the big teams? I'm trying to decide whether I should get rid before the games against Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Based on the small sample set of this season.
CHE - 1 point - MP 22
LIV - 7 points - MP 68
mun - 3 points - MP 61
ars - 1 point - MP 15
mci - 2 points - MP 76

Remove Son or Pogba for Salah, that is my quandary?

Is the slight worry with Son that he's a reasonably easy player to rotate (with say Lamela) when they have their tough fixture run with Juventus chucked in, or that Poch could play his slightly more pragmatic 3421 with Alli/Eriksen behind Kane in tough games?

I suppose the one thing you could say about Pogba is that he's very likely to play all games, if sometimes a bit deep.

For those changing Son, I actually think Mane is a decent alternative to those like me who no longer have (and cannot afford) Salah. Seems to have found form again.

He's quality, and in form. Who cares whether he loses out when Toby is back, or whatever, you simply sell him when and if that happens

How did he play yesterday? I noticed he was subbed off around 70 min.

The whole spurs performance was mediocre, so unfair to single him out as being good/bad/indifferent.

That said, he was far from the least effective on the pitch.

I wasn't a believer in this H/A form stuff, but thinking I keep him for the game against Man U as it wouldn't surprise me if he gets a goal or two.

Missed eriksen feeding balls in

Dembele and particularly Dier had shockers, plus Alli running around falling over

Son as usual in great positions they just lacked any sort of quality to feed him

Nicely summed up. Maybe it should be said that he had 0 shots and 0 chanes created.
It is also interesting that Poch opted to sub off Son and not Alli, who was dreadful slowing down attacks, picking wrong passes and generally looking out of form or Sissoko who was, well Sissoko. Alli did make a nice pass to Kane in the end though.
But it is what I'm suspicious about, that Son is a bench player in Poch's eyes and after couple of bad games, with Alder returning, he could be relegated to bench again.

I suspect Potch just wanted to wrestle control off Lemania and Romeu two strong players, and he needed Sissoko for physical presence, if made sense in that regard

I’m seeing it from Joshs point of view, Son does seem to be easily dispensed.

Wanyama will be back up speed soon enough too, so someone has to make way.

I’ve not at all been impressed by Dier and Dembele in the games since early December... so Wanyama could step in for one of them; but my gut instinct is that Son will make way.

There is one player who is picking some form and could be brought in for Son. From what I hear, he loves playing against Bournemouth...

I don't know if it has been mentioned before, but isn't he just really good at home and very poor in away games?

He has scored 7 goals and provided 5 assists in his last 8 home games, blanking only once;
in contrast to...
scoring only 1 goal and assisting none in his last 8 away games (does include two sub appearances).

Is that a bit harsh to judge Son's lack of returns on Spurs' struggles (admittedly, which comes first... Sons lack of returns or Spurs' away day blues)?

Everton (h) 4-0
West Ham (h) 1-1
Saints (h) 5-2
Brighton (h) 2-0
Stoke (h) 5-1
West Brom (h) 1-1
Palace (h) 1-0
Liverpool (h) 4-1

W6 D2 L0 F23 A6

Saints (a) 1-1
Swansea (a) 0-2
Burnley (a) 0-3
City (a) 4-1
Watford (a) 1-1
Leicester (a) 2-1
Arsenal (a) 2-0
Man U (a) 1-0

W2 D2 L4 F9 A11

Can also factor in that the last 8 includes 3 of the hardest away games of the season (versus just one of the hardest homes).

I've had Son since GW22 and he's got me some nice points hauls, but I'm ditching him for Arnautovic. Horrible run of fixtures so my only Spurs player will be Kane.

I hope you haven't made this move already?! Arnautovic is injured and out for 2-4 games

He'll be staying for me. At that price I don't need to move him on just yet.

No, despite his price rise the other day I was going to wait until after WH played their cup game on Saturday.

I've been burned before transferring players in too early so usually leave it as late as possible, despite often having to pay 0.1 more.
