Heaton appears to be fully fit now, but Pope is number one at the moment, especially after his man of the match performance last weekend.

Long has filled in well when he's been needed this season and at 4.0 could be a decent option.

Is Long a sure thing to replace Mee for the next 3 games?

Yes, we don't have any other central defenders.

Certainly is. Most of my plans are much easier to achieve with the saving from Chilwell/Morgan to Long
Although Pope is also a consideration. He was my first choice for keeper and as a long term owner he's only £4.7m for me, but Heaton's fitness was casting a shadow
Back to the drawing board...again...
Thanks as always TP

Klopp on Bournemouth team: We've had a longer part of the week to prepare. Makes a big difference. We have enough time for a completely normal line-up. From now on if people think I won't do that because of Roma, it will make my life difficult. We have to do our job.

rip non salah owners.

I'd love to say we are in the top four for sure, but we aren't. We need rhythm and momentum. You won't beat Bournemouth or Roma if you aren't at your best. That will have the biggest influence on my line-ups.

Thats me (and any non-owners of Salah) bricking it tomorrow. Will make attending the game and watching agonising.
I dropped a proper bollock flogging him last week (having had him for about 20 weeks).

Conte on resting Andreas Christensen last weekend: “To play at this level means you lose a lot of mental energy. It could be that he can be a bit tired under this aspect. I have this opportunity to make rotations, especially in the defensive line."

Not 20 weeks’ worth, I also needlessly lost budget for my Free Hit by flogging him before his price drop.

Jesus after the DGW is now quite tempting if Aguero is out for a few weeks.

Schmeichel to be assessed: "He took a heavy knock and we will have to see whether he can be fit for our next game. We may know more on Monday.” #LCFC

Heaton will have to bide his time: "Inevitably it's who will perform on the pitch but Nick Pope has certainly done himself no harm in front of the England manager. He was outstanding today." #twitterclarets

Former referee Dermot Gallagher believes Alonso could face retrospective action for his challenge on Long. A tackle which left Mark Hughes mystified why the #CFC defender was not sent-off: “Shane has got a real gash down the calf. It’s a clear red card, there’s intent to hurt.”

Lovren to be assessed: "I would love if it [was] a knock [rather than] a strain or tear or whatever," said Klopp. "I have no clue, I didn’t speak to him afterwards, I only saw that he was limping. Hopefully [it is] not too serious, of course, but I cannot say more now.” #LFC

The @FA have charged Marcos Alonso retrospectively with violent conduct following an incident involving Shane Long during Saturday’s 3-2 win over Southampton. #CFC

Joe Gomez is hoping to recover from an ankle injury in time for Liverpool’s @ChampionsLeague semi-final first leg tie against Roma next week. Meanwhile, Dejan Lovren is still being assessed, but initial findings suggest his withdrawal on Saturday was more of a precaution. #LFC

No fresh injury concerns. #AFCB
Mings is training with the 1st team but Wednesday is likely to come too soon. Stanislas and Adam Smith are out. “We are pretty much as we were," revealed Howe. “We played LFC [and] got a couple of knocks, but that's nothing out of the ordinary."

“I didn't feel sharp, the ball came in and it was right on the path of my left foot so i just whacked it! I've only been training with the lads [for five days], so not a lot.”
(Andy Carroll)

Playing for a place in the @EmiratesFACup “If a player is phenomenal [vs Bournemouth], he will play in the semi-final. It is an opportunity for some people to try to get a place against Spurs and some of the guys that played [vs WBA] don't have a place in that team.” #MUFC

Long conv on Man United youth/Rashford following the linking of this article (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43791546) has been relocated.

Edit: And since, discussion of the fortune/misfortune involved in Alonso's charge has been moved to its own thread.

Please try to stay on topic wherever possible. :)

Argentina Football Association (AFA) doctor Homero D'Agostino does not expect Sergio Aguero to be "100 per cent" fit for the @FIFAWorldCup after undergoing a left knee operation. "The recovery process will require at least 5 weeks. It's never going to be less than 3 or 4 weeks."

Tom Heaton looks set for a place on the bench vs Chelsea after keeping a clean sheet in his third game for the U23s on Monday evening. Jon Walters continues to build fitness with the development side as he recovers from knee surgery. #twitterclarets

Scott Arfield [calf] will miss the games against Chelsea and Stoke while Ben Mee is improving and has an outside chance making the trip on Sunday. ##twitterclarets

Steven Davis [Achilles] will travel to Leicester but Mario Lemina [back] and Sofiane Boufal [illness] have been ruled out. Jack Stephens serves the second game of his three-match ban. #SaintsFC

The omission of Rudiger from the matchday squad on Saturday was purely tactical and Conte hints at a recall. Emerson Palmieri is in line for his first PL start against Burnley. #CFC

Expect Conte to rotate ahead of the @EmiratesFACup tie on Sunday: "We have the same recovery time [as Southampton] after this week's games before the semi-final. To play two games in two-and-a-half days is not simple" #CFC

Conte says that Chelsea have until 6pm to respond to Marcos Alonso's @FA charge of violent conduct for his challenge on Shane Long. "I don't want to comment on this topic now." #CFC

The lesser spotted Sanches is back at Swansea and hoping to play a part in the final push for PL survival. The Bayern Munich loanee has not featured since suffering a serious hamstring injury at the end of January. #Swans

Amartey has re-joined the group, although he is unlikely to feature on Thursday: "He came back today in the training sessions, but it is not enough time,” Puel said. Meanwhile, Ndidi is available for selection after the completion of his two-match suspension. #LCFC
Midfield duo out for the rest of the campaign: “We have had some problems at the end of this season with injuries like Matty James [Achilles] and Vicente Iborra [hamstring] and we need to adapt to give confidence to the other players.” #LCFC
On a potential replacement for Schmeichel: "Firstly, we will see if Kasper can play and after it will be a choice between Ben Hamer and Eldin Jakupović. I don’t want to give details about everyone but just say they are two goalkeepers with good attributes." #LCFC
Schmeichel a major doubt for Thursday: "It was a fall and a knock," said Puel. "The problem is in his ankle and we will see if he can play in this game." #LCFC
Puel to make a late call on Schmeichel: “We’ll see if Kasper can play this game, but we are not sure. For the moment he cannot train with us. We will see on Okazaki also - he has a problem with his ankle.” #LCFC

Wenger will use Sunday as preparation for the @EuropaLeague SF meaning Aubameyang may miss out: "He cannot play on Thursday. I am not sure to play him at the moment. Most of the time [after Europe], it was a help. But when you prepare, it is a handicap that he can’t play." #AFC (Dinnery)

Hmmm that's an interesting quote, lacazette in pole position for FH teams, perhaps some of the other first teamers like Ramsey and Monreal too.

Gives a bit of confidence to pick defenders
a) in terms of them starting
b) them having a decent team in front of them

Agree. Spanner number one. Not sure we can trust either Auba or Laca now (or ever, in the case of the latter.

On the flipside, I just may hold on to Mustafi.

edit: oops, just saw Zimmerman's post. Similar thinking though!

Except a quick look suggests Welbeck has appeared frequently in recent Europa games, starting numerous times - so it could be Welbeck and Lacazette starting if Wenger uses this weekend as a run out for his Europa team.
