I know some of you are keen on Gomez but I prefer Morticia myself.

I don't know about that. I doubt PSG have spent nearly £200m on Neymar to put him on the bench.
The exception that proves the rule!

Was going to say "except massive signings" but couldn't be bothered !

Ha, yeah, fair enough.

Perhaps we should extend it further and say there is no such thing as a "guaranteed" starter? Just players that are more likely to start than others.

http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-t ... -situation

They've both started well, but we know from the first 5 games that Klopp isn't keen on playing TAA for too many consecutive games and with Gomez only recently back from a long time out I wouldn't be surprised if he's treated the same, so it could be a revolving door with those two.

Is anyone considering taking both?

I hope, and expect, that it will 8-) 8-)

Seriously, I don't think that he is any better than Hendo\Can\Milner let alone Cout\Lalla. I'm unpretty ignorant about Keita, but apparently he is rather good, and seems to have the attacking\flexible holding midfielder position next season.

It's a shame Groomyd isn't about to espouse his virtues and Mike is a rare poster nowadays: because I think he has become rather mediocre.

I agree that he's fallen far short of what was expected from him when he first went to Arsenal as a kid and that he's not first choice in the midfield. I'd add Wijnaldum to the list ahead of him as well.
It'd be a bit harsh on TAA and Gomez though as they're doing well enough.
I don't see #shambles anywhere other than a sub for a while myself.

Whoops I forgot Wijnathing: so that's another that I would have ahead of him in midfield.

I'm no doubt swimming against the tide with this one but Dunk of Brighton interests me quite a bit at the moment. Decent fixtures, good goal threat and the team has some promise in terms of clean sheets given the stats beyond just the results so far and their record at home last year.

I have him - you can't ask for much more from a 4.5 than the points you mentioned and who's going to spend most of his time on the bench anyway.

(I'm a firm believer in a full 15, especially early on, and therefore avoid 4m players unless one really stands out - which doesn't seem the case at the moment.)

Any Brighton fans think he will take no.1 spot? Would be good value to have 2 x 4.0m keepers between the FPL sticks.

Anyone know who's the most likely to play out of the 4m priced defenders? Need someone to take Mbemba's place.

None unfortunately. The only ones who may get some minutes are Rangel and Rosenior I think, but there are no starters in that price bracket.

I couldn't see any defender 4.5 or less that I wanted. I tried my best to squeeze one in as I'm playing a back five, but none were appealing to me at all.

Jesus Gamez (NEW - 4.0) played as LB this afternoon with a CS and 2 bonus points. Also 3 chances created and quite reasonable defensive numbers.

Is he likely to keep his spot in the starting team for at least the next two (STK/bha)? Could be a decent replacement for Yoshida with a nice 1.0 saving.

Possibly, but probably not, unfortunately. He's sortof 3rd/4th choice LB and could be out of the team in a number of ways. One of Yedlin/Lejeune could come in (they're just back from injury) and Mbemba could come back in if fit again.

He did play well though. But then again, so did Mbemba there the game before.

Looking at Newcastles fixtures, they're pretty tastey. I might pick up Clark/Lascelles to replace Memba.

Thanks Stem.
Thought this was his 1st season at Newcastle but now I see he was already there last season and played less than 400 minutes in all competitions.

Depending on the Watford injury situation Marriapa might get you two games (though one of them is City) - Britos still suspended for two, Cathcart out, Kaboul possibly out, Prodl struggling.

Other than that Mbemba (depending on injury status)/Gamez probably are the only other 4m guys with a shot of playing.

Surely if Holgate comes back in this weekend after his knock he's a huge bandwagon?
