Re: Template/Must haves
Anyone else a bit worried about Spurs playing at Wembley? Might require a bedding in period. At the moment it's stopping me from including Kane and Alli.

Thanks for that, very helpful. Great to have specialists for the newly promoted teams around the forum.Terrier Ramone wrote: Town fan here, I doubt Mooy will be on pens and his free kicks/corners were really disappointing last year....for someone who can pluck a ball out of the air, be surrounded by 3 players and still find an outlet ball, they were awful. The likely implication of the Defoe signing is to see him revert to being an auxiliary forward of sorts.Terry Henry wrote:Anyone going for King upfront? Not heard many people mention him
May even submit to Defoe on pens as well.
With his new classification, i think it's a wait and see.
If you don't mind the enquiry, why are you so sure about Lacazette hitting the ground running? Arsenal's first 3 games aren't exactly stellar.

Something like this too top heavy despite no Kane/Aguero?
Foster, Boruc
Ake, Monreal, Lindelof, 4.0, 4.0
Coutinho, Alli, Sane, Matic, McArthur
Lukaku, Jesus, Firminho
Can't help but think replace 3rd striker with Gayle or similar and go with a better 4th mid
Foster, Boruc

Just have a feeling about Lacazette but will see what pre-season brings. most popular XV in a 2553 it's not a legal team tho, as it overspends (£ 115.5) and has 4 MUN

Re: Template/Must haves
I've got King atm. Don't think he needs to perform nearly as well as last season to be good value at 7.5. He played alongside Afobe, so hopefully his relationship with Defoe won't be totally dissimilar. I think Howe would be foolish to nullify King in favour of Defoe. One is a young man you can hope to base your team on in future years, while they'll only get a year or two out of Defoe.Terry Henry wrote:Anyone going for King upfront? Losing pens is a shame, but he was never that great at them.
Just my take. I'm willing to give him a few weeks and if it looks like Defoe is a problem then he can be downgraded to any of the other third strikers.

Re: Template/Must haves
Tadic at £6.5m looks good for me. Incredible 9 out of 10 first fixtures. If not him then maybe Gabbi, but striker slots seem crowded...
I'm very tempted by him. A friend who's a Chelsea + Bristol City has been keeping an eye on him and was singing his praises - to the extent that he wanted him to be starting for Chelsea this season. Hopefully the pen miss in the U21s championship won't affect him too much though.Tadpole wrote:Anyone tempted by Tammy Abraham at 5.5mil?

He is on my watchlist. But I am more likely to consider him after GW 3 or 5 when fixtures are more favourable. By then I would also like to see that he is regularly involved.Tadpole wrote:Anyone tempted by Tammy Abraham at 5.5mil?

Not seeing Zaha mentioned much. He's 7.0 and has HUD, liv, SWA in the first 3, and Palace usuall do very well vs L'pool, no?
I usually only plan for the first 3 GWs, before a likely early WC, when we know so much more.

Yeah, I think this makes a lot of sense, as usually by GW3 you end up having 3 or 4 players that are about to drop in price due to them turning out to be bad picks.Cliffard wrote:Not seeing Zaha mentioned much. Yup, really like him at that price and with those fixtures, and with FdB commenting on how he'll likely play in a front three (recent Times interview).Cliffard wrote:Not seeing Zaha mentioned much. He's 7.0 and has HUD, liv, SWA in the first 3, and Palace usuall do very well vs L'pool, no?

Not really sure why people are contemplating Gundogan, theres already enough rotation in man city, I can't see him making the team at all.brencarr wrote:Very impressive before his injury last year and could be a good shout at 5.5mDAREEL wrote: .... and Gundo if fit interest me.

Pep loves him. He's massive for them. He played almost every game by memory..bar 1. Correct me if I'm wrong

Ah fair enough, I just remember him being a massive bandwagon and then disappearing straight after. Do we think Lallana at 7.5 is good value. Will he play week in week out? I've currently got Coutinho, but maybe Lallana allows me to spend more elsewhere.

Re: Template/Must haves
He's not in my team yet partly I'm curious to see how Swansea start. Though I think they will have a much improved season, maybe even top half (just my opinion).Lucky wrote:He is on my watchlist. My girlfriend supports Bristol City and absolutely raved about him last year, his goals were carrying an underwhelming side with an unpopular manager. 18 goals in 32 games before a hamstring injury and then 5 in 10 afterwards. I checked this as I thought he tailed off at one point, but apart from a spell of 1 in 8 in November he never went 3 games without a goal all season.
As with Lucky, I want to be sure he is first choice. If he's a regular in the team and is outperforming Dwight Gayle I'll be bringing him in.

Trippier has just become essential. Man City on the other hand, even less affordable. No outstanding D or MF choices.

I wouldn't know. One thing though, Alaves under Pellegrino conceded 14 in 4 against Real Madrid and Barcelona, 29 in the remaining 34 games. Cédric Soares and Maya Yoshida definitely on the radar, especially given their early fixtures.JoonaR16 wrote:Any info about Southampton's defence?
