Summer transfers and FPL prospects

Post by swadd1er »

Looks like Defoe will complete a move to Bournemouth later in the week.

May release Wilson/King to Newcastle. Talks of Andre Gray heading to Tyneside too.

Will be considering one of those 4 if moves are made or even if King stays with the Cherries. He hit the ground running this season.

I'm curious to if they will qualify King as a midfielder or a forward.

Are Wilson and Gray really better than Gayle? King is, but he's not a pure striker.

Defoe to BOU looks very interesting, I'll be tempted at 7.5 or less.

I wouldn't necessarily say better but we do need an option up front with a bit of pace if Gayle gets injured/suspended. Kane, Jesus, Gayle/Defoe will be popular front 3's id imagine. Regardless of price.

I don't think I'll be interested in Jesus if he's priced over £10.0m and plays out wide.

All depends on what happens with Aguero over the summer. Expecting Yaya, Nolito, Bravo, possibly Iheanacho, and Kolarov to make way along with Clichy and Zabaleta.

Expecting a GK, RB, CB, LB, LW/RW, ST bought by City.

More interested in Ritchie (on set pieces and pens) and a Newcastle defender rather than a striker personally.

Rafa has the ability to set a team up very well to be hard to break down. Clark or Lascelles (aerial threat) at 4.5? Also likely a new CB or 2 will come in so it's a wait and see.

Ritchie is a tricky player to have. He will blank a lot, so his price could fall quickly at the start of the season. I'm actually more interested in Atsu, who could be priced at 5.0.

Be prepared for plenty of rotation then. Ritchie will be first choice on the right, a left winger will be signed with Atsu viewed as backup to either side.

That's Alireza Jahanbakhsh, a winger from AZ Alkmaar. Iranian indeed.

11 goals and lots of assists last season in the Dutch Eredivisie.

That's a shame, he seemed very talented in the two Newcastle games that I've watched.

Right now I wouldn't take anything for granted as to who we sign over the summer. Ritchie could be a solid 4th mid if things stay the same but I get the feeling the team will change a lot over the summer. Am a big Ritchie fan so hopefully he is still first choice come the start of the season.

Marco Silva is expected to replace Sam Allardyce as Crystal Palace manager after leaving Hull City. Palace defenders back on the table! Should be well priced too.

Do they really need another CAM though? He's not better than David Silva and KDB. Unless this means that David Silva is leaving. You guys should get on the phone if that is the case, at his age you might get him for 30-35M.

He is more like Sane than Silva. Guess he'll start over Sterling at RW

But that would mean one of Aguero/Jesus will miss out.

I haven't watched a lot of Monaco, but I always thought he's more of a dribbler than a runner.

I see it being a lot more fluid than that. More like any 3 or 4 of Aguero, Jesus, Silva, Bernado and Sane could start depending on the opposition/competition. Injuries, suspensions, rotation will mean there are plenty of games for all 5 of them.

Agree that Sterling would seem the more likely to have significantly reduced game time, based on the evidence of the last few weeks.

You're probably right, and Bernardo will probably replace one of Aguero/Silva at the end of the season as a permanent starter.

Bernardo signs at City for £43.6m.

Rumours of Walker and Mendy next in for City.

He's 31, whereas Bernardo is 22, which is huge. I would imagine that Pep will want to work with Bernardo Silva over the years to improve his game and fit him into his system, in a way that he doesn't have the chance to as much with David Silva. Players like Bernardo Silva and Pogba still have years to potentially improve and mature; when Zidane was 22/23 he was playing in the French league, had not won any trophies, and only had a handful of international caps.
