Re: How happy are you with your FPL Season 2016/17?
After GW1, I really thought it was going to be my year. Ranked 1,863, I was looking forward to my first top 1k, maybe even top 100. Then the reality that I'm not a great manager set in. 5 red arrows in a row saw me slip to 266k. I then spent the next 12 weeks going up and down, eventually hitting a season-low of 640k after GW18. Where did it all go wrong?
Then a slow and steady rise up the ranking saw me hit 41k by GW28 and with 3 chips still in hand, was once again looking forward to a decent finish. But then failing to get Sanchez in for the doubles and captaining Hazard in both GW36(TC) and GW37 put paid to any hopes I had of that. Going into the last week, I had a 9-pt buffer from falling out of the top 100k, a mark I have beaten in all of my previous 10 seasons. Ignoring Sanchez and placing all my eggs in a Man City triple-block defence probably wasn't the best way to defend a 9-pt lead from several thousand people! Thanks to Captain Kane and those good ol' boys in blue, not only did it work but I've avoided my previous worst finish of 64k by a gnat's whisker.
Am I happy after that monster GW1? No. Happy after being 640k in GW18? Yes. I'll just be happy with anything in the top 100k from now on. I know my place!

13,000th. Actually my best for some seasons, but after 9 I should be doing better. Top 2k next season

27,000th which I'm very happy with after a three season break. Lead my work league nearly all season and lost it today by four points. Gabbiadini has a lot to answer for.

I had no expectations of where I wanted to finish
In the end highest finish ever playing FPL (28,992)
Last two weeks were huge as I overturned a 50 point deficit to win my main mini league
Roll on next year, hopefully I can kick on

1,082nd in the end.
Slightly disappointed that I didn't break 1k, but that is still my highest ever finish so no complaints from me. It gives me three top 2k finishes in the last four years and a five year average rank of 8k. If only last year hadn't have happened (25k) I'd have a really decent looking 5 year run

3,941 final rank. But last two weeks tailed of slightly. Was hoping for top 1,000 but reasonable season nonetheless.

Finished 11,287th, so disappointed in the end. My captaincy decision probably cost me a top 10k finish.

Very happy, highest ever finish of 2,802 after 6.8k and 5.3k in previous two seasons, so top 10k for three seasons in a row for first time.
I've been a long time (mainly) lurker and occasional poster on here but have started to a new job in this FPL season that requires A LOT of international travel (often alone) so am hoping to contribute on FISO more next year as i will have fewer London based distractions hehe
On one specific thing, I've always been intrigued by the 5AS thingy on here but never got involved, I'm happy to offer my services next year if a team that takes it seriously has a space

2,492 final it seems - I'll definitely take that.
You need only look on the last page - PTM was also 400k+ at GW17 . When you're that far back it's easy to green I guess.Finisher1 wrote:You had absolutely a monster second part of the season, 14 green arrows out of last 15 gameweeks (GW38 included), I have never seen anything like that.

Finished just out of 50K but I had been having a horrible season - hovering around the 1M club from GWs 15-18. Finished the 2nd half pretty well except for completely misjudging Spurs and Kane in the final two games (only had Davies for the double and GW38).

Re: How happy are you with your FPL Season 2016/17?
Very happy - my best season ever and a very strong finish. Missed winning a strong mini league by 11 points but I was almost 80 behind before Thursday night so never really expected to win and there's money for 2nd place anyway. Admittedly, this is most seriously I've taken it for a fair few years but a 2,300th overall finish is very pleasing (previous best was 2,700th). I'll be back to not taking it as seriously next season though.

He was obviously disgusted and gave up after captaining Hazard in DGW37 while having Sanchez, Kane and Jesus in the squad...

355 in the end, which I'm obviously happy with, but I'm also a bit disappointed because I was 138 in GW31 and thought I had a decent chance of breaking the top 100.
I was also top of the FISO league for most of the second half of the season & fell away in the last few weeks, which again was disappointing. I was distracted by my money league & cup & trying to match what my nearest rivals were doing to secure the win during these last few weeks, which cost me quite a few points (De Gea over Cech, keeping Hazard/Costa etc), so next year I'm going to pay less attention to what those around me are doing and just do what I think will get the most points.

Rage transfers possibly. I did this back in 2010 or so, took a 56 point hit and put in loads of non players and out of the blue the guy I captained played for the first time in the season and got me 4 points, which was pretty funny.Mav3rick wrote:This guy must have had his password stolen or something.. 7k in GW37 to 92k in GW38 after taking a 52 point hit for this:

8.4k finish - my best rank for a few years, so can't really grumble with that - although I may need to look at what I'm doing as I never really make large gains but just chip away at the ranking after fighting back to 100k from the inevitable 3 week slump that always seems to happen without fail. 10 green arrows out of the last 11 but only gaining about 5k on average each week.
Went in to the last month in my 2 cash leagues trailing by 70 points and wound up winning them both by over 40 points largely thanks to Harry Kane and a better WC than my main oppo. Not going to complain there, so overall, pretty happy really.

6.3k finish, which is the first time I've been under 100k finish in 3 years. Made it into top 100k after GW4 wildcard and then never dipped out. Been my most enjoyable season by far. Been much more engaged, and paid attention to price rises. I only really found FISO a year or so ago, but the various tips sites I don't bother with as I think the discussion and ideas on here are way more interesting. Thanks to all on FISO, you've helped iron out the wrinkled shirt I was

4.3 k finish. 2nd best in my 5 years of FPL but disappointed as I feel i could have done much better. My holiday season was just a disaster as I went from 12.6 K in GW15 to 128.8 k after GW20. Was an uphill climb after that and never could get enough breaks to make it happen.

lost another one by 10 points
last 3 GWs were awesome for me, climbed from 43,127 to 6,137, scoring 97, 182 and 102 points

Ranked 1868 which is my best result yet, so I'm pretty happy. I'm also chuffed since I generally seem to be getting better so will come back next year pushing for top 1k if possible.
I assume that real life affects everyone's performances to some extent? In 14/15 I didn't have an office job so far less time spent on here and FFS doing research, which looks like it reflected badly on my rank that year.
11/12 I started in the second week and essentially had no idea how it all worked for the first few weeks at least
2011/12 1,872 528,037
2012/13 2,125 45,756
2013/14 2,376 18,050
2014/15 2,097 56,027
2015/16 2,234 19,371

We finished level on points Mav, so I feel your pain about just missing out on top 1k. Still a great season (and 5 year record) - congrats.Mav3rick wrote:1,082nd in the end.

As for my season, I'd have taken this overall rank at the start of the season, but it was only good enough to finish 4th in my biggest money league. I think that, unlike last season, this was a season where a lot of serious players did well, as is evidenced by the number of top 10k ranks in this thread. So overall I was delighted with my season until Harry Kane scored 7 goals in the last 4 days of it to ruin it a bit, and now I'm just quite happy with it

Not enjoyed this season at all. Highly volatile prices meant making transfers during a gameweek early on. Plus I've become increasingly disillusioned with EPL football, can't remember the last time I watched more than 15 minutes of a game.
