Post by BobMem »

Need a defender for a 1 week punt. Could be literally anyone. I'm thinking Bailly.

2 frees before I wildcard.

Sanchez > Martial
Llorente > Benteke

Waiting to see the rest of the week's games though.

it's a week to gamble if hitting the WC in GW36

waiting until after the City v United game, but if Martial doesn't play then like the look of him v Swansea and possibly even Rooney

Boro so poor at Bournemouth, fancy a City player but again it's a question of who will play, talk on Blue Moon of Sterling possibly playing through the middle at the weekend if Aguero only has the legs for Thursday night.

Will be definitely taking a punt or two, a pre wildcard tradition! :D

the thought has crossed my mind too!

he was brilliant at the weekend, will have to see if he plays Thursday, he's a very good player and if he plays like he did at Burnley he will get points v Swansea.

If he plays on Thursday night then I won't risk him, Mkhitaryan is another I'm watching, basically United attacking players who don't play Thursday :D

If Rashford plays v City (and he will) there is absolutely no chance he starts v Swansea, they have the EL semi final next week

I'd wait for Palace-Spurs and City-United.

If Van Aanholt starts, he could be a decent one for a home encounter with Burnley this weekend.

And maybe Kompany for Boro away?

agree on PVA

I'd also nominate Daniels and Shaw (if he doesn't play Thursday) as excellent one week punts

Thinking Negredo  Defoe, funded by a defensive change somewhere (possibly Gibson to Yoshida).

All great suggestions, thanks! You have me thinking about Man city now. I may even bring Clichy in a week early (planned for WC), which also helps beat any cheeky price rises.

Really tough one to call at the moment actually, I think I'm going to have to wait and see how the 3 games tonight and the Manchester derby tomorrow pan out.

I'll be WC-ing next week but I don't see anywhere obvious to use a FT this week at the minute, unless an injury comes up or unless someone is about to rise or whatever...

Siggy  Hazard, depending on whether I also plan to get Aguero in for Lukaku at some point. Might just do both, if I feel brave enough to take a -4.

I have 2 FTs and will wait till the pressers. Pretty settled on Lukaku and Sigurdsson out; possibly Vardy and Martial in (if Martial doesn't start Thursday), I have the exact cash for that. Aguero for one week is also an option (if de Jesus isn't ready), maybe with King. But I really like the Martial punt if the pieces come together.

Ruth, let me push you on something: who'd you get in for those two if you didn't have your WC? :)

If Rashford plays 90 against City I think it's unlikely he starts against Swansea.

unlikely is generous, he will play against City and he will be rested v Swansea.

No disrespect to Swansea (who are fighting for their lives) but United have just won comfortably away at one of the toughest places to go, I'm sure JM will be thinking that the players who did for Burnley - Martial, Rooney, etc, should be able to deal with Swansea.

The 1st semi final of the EL is next week and Rashford will start that game too, so play v City, bench v Swansea, play v Celta Vigo, I'm expecting Valencia to be exactly the same (providing he is actually fit enough to play tomorrow in the first place).

And for my final benching tip, look for DDG to match the above sequence.

I hope not! I thought Mourinho said De Gea was his keeper for the league and Romero for the Europa. Not like goalies get tired.

I'm pondering Carroll to Gabbiadini with my first free. Then it's whether I want Hazard for Siggy or Aguero for Lukaku.

I'm sure he said something along the lines of "but not for all the games"

I could be wrong, but I don't see DDG being benched for a Europa League semi final, keepers don't get tired you are correct, but I think Romero will play v Swansea, just a sneaking suspicion.

Yes that needs to be factored in. Gabbiadini or Origi if Rashford is too much of a doubt

I agree. As a Valencia owner I'm hoping for a start, but I expect him and Rashford to be rested.
