I'd delay the Costa one. Allen to Phillips not a priority either. Stoke have some nice games if Allen is in a number 10 role.Aldershot Rejects wrote:I could do Siggy, Allen & Kane to Lallana, Phillips and Costa but I'm not sure it's worth a -8. Problem is I have pretty much no slack on prices so I need to decide on the first two tonight (should just about get away with Kane not falling I think). What do you guys think - too much of a knee-jerk? Delay Kane - Costa until next GW?
I'd pencilled in Phillips for GW20 and now he's smashed it, many more people will get him! Tough looking game at Spurs after Hull though.

Antonio --> Phillips
Alonso --> Brunt
Anichebe --> Gray
Alternatively, I downgrade Mane to Lallana and keep Alonso.
Thoughts?

Kane looks fairly safe from the drop tonight at least so I'll probably wait until after tomorrow and take a rain check.blahblah wrote:The first certainly makes sense.

You are probably correct - I'll wait until GW22 although I worry about his price running away in the meantime especially if he produces against Hull.Sutter Kane wrote:I'd delay the Costa one. Re: GW20 Transfers. Deadline: Mon 02 Jan 2017 11:30 GMT
Hull have improved of late, it may not be a walkover and there is surely a chance at least of a rest for Phillips (as with anyone). All hits are at backfire risk this week.
My team feels so backed into a corner (4 value droppers at least, possibly Siggy too and little bits of value spread over the cheaper players) that I might even wildcard, if I had any idea what the right structure was going forward I think I would.
As it is, I think I'll probably do Siggy Phillips and then think about a -4 or -8 after we see spurs tomorrow.

Burnley have some tough fixtures in the next few weeks, so don't expect Gray to bang in the goals. I'd probably just do Antonio --> Philips. Alonso is a season keeper, well defender, but you knowOwsler wrote:Antonio --> Phillips

My thoughts as well. Prices rises will come, but with two games in three days attacking players are so easily rotated.Mav3rick wrote:Hull have improved of late, it may not be a walkover and there is surely a chance at least of a rest for Phillips (as with anyone). They have but still pretty leaky at the back and Phillips tends to well in this type of game.Mav3rick wrote:Hull have improved of late, it may not be a walkover and there is surely a chance at least of a rest for Phillips (as with anyone). All hits are at backfire risk this week.

Just had a look at FFIX I've got 11 players with net transfers out at the moment including Defoe who scored today - not sure what everyone expects at his price point. Fortunately, most of these aren't close to a drop, 4 falling is a real pain.

probably waiting till after the Arsenal game tommorow. Perhaps some double move to get Sanchez or Agüero, doesn't make sense to have double Chelsea captaincy options and no Arsenal/city.
Siggy --> Phillips before price changes does sound tempting with how shit Swansea currectly are though.

Re: GW20 Transfers. Deadline: Mon 02 Jan 2017 11:30 GMT
I've wildcarded so at the risk of this appearing like an RMT (which it isn't) I am currently:
Valdes/Grant
Alonso/Baines/Brunt (Ake/Holgate)
Sanchez/Eriksen/Lallana/Phillips (De Roon)
Aguero/Ibrahimovic/Costa
£0.2M ITB
Any suggestions?
What have I got wrong?
Obviously the fate of Sanchez & Eriksen tomorrow may influence matters and I would have liked one of William/Pedro but to get that Erik has to go and that, at the moment, is not a good plan despite the Chelsea dominance.

I went through that and thought, defence yeah nice, Solid keepers, Great looking midfield and then what Aguero ibra and Costa. . Great team really like the look of it, im thinking of similar minus Aguero and Baines but with Benteke and Rose with money to move to Coutinho. Im holding my Wildcard until next weekWeisenwolf wrote:I've wildcarded so at the risk of this appearing like an RMT (which it isn't) I am currently:

22 hits so 88 points, not all for profit, but most have been. Made a few mistakes (I don't means bad luck but genuine mistakes) but it's a bit of an experiment, currently around 166k so clearly it has had a cost so it will be interesting to see, in the second half, whether this is a viable strategy.Terry Henry wrote:Where have you got all that money from? -8pt hits each week I guessWeisenwolf wrote:I've wildcarded so at the risk of this appearing like an RMT (which it isn't) I am currently:

I think (and I think you realise) that your hits have worked out really well. You've got a better rank and a huge TV for taking them so you're very well set.Weisenwolf wrote: 22 hits so 88 points, not all for profit, but most have been. Normally I'd expect a bigger deficit from -88 in hits but honestly I think you've made that up already and with such a powerful team I don't expect to finish ahead of you and think you'll overtake me soon.
I just hope you're the exception rather than the rule!

Was planning on Hazard to Phillips and Carroll to Aguero however I've now decided a straight swap from Stanislas to Phillips. And play 352 this week.
Queue the yearly Aguero 5 goal haul....

For a wildcard team, I think the defensive picks are sub-optimal, they aren't the ones I would have anyway. I'd take Bellerin over Alonso for the next 6 weeks and look to switch to a Chelsea defender after that. And I'd have Coleman over Baines, or even Dann if Palace show some signs of better organisation under Big Sam in today's game.
I might also switch Brunt for Evans and upgrade Holgate to Pieters but that's simply because I hate having 4m of dead budget and I think that's what Holgate is. Personally I like a squad of 15 players rather than 14; it would enable me to rotate Pieters in @ Sunderland in GW21 instead of playing Phillips @ Spurs, for example, and it would also improve my 1st sub options every week. But that's just my preference, I know most managers prefer to work with a 'dead' defender.

Re: GW20 Transfers. Deadline: Mon 02 Jan 2017 11:30 GMT
Slight change of plan for me, Phillips seemed too good value to pass up with WBA's fixtures as they are. Plus Anichebe will be out for 6-8 weeks if I'm not much mistaken. So I have used 2FTs to do:
Fletcher Phillips; Anichebe Barnes.
That means I have switched to 3-5-2 and there's still enough in the pot to upgrade Mee to Dann if I decide to take a hit to do so. Or to otherwise upgrade my defence in the coming weeks.

You have a massive bankroll which enables you to get that squad - the vast majority of us could not hope to get close to that. However, its only a Hazard-Aguero switch from being a fairly templatey 3-5-2. If playing your wildcard this early (and with lingering questions over Aguero's wow factor this season) is that the only POD you want to set yourself up with? Taking another couple of short-term punts (e.g. Arsenal defender over Chelsea defender and being prepared to switch back later) is worth considering.

For me it's down to
Sigurdsson Lallana (maintaining 3-5-2)
OR
Sigurdsson de Roon
Barnes Benteke
-4 (switching to 3-4-3)
Need to decide which of Benteke or Lallana is the best bet going forward. Fixtures say Benteke however, form says Lallana and he seems almost too good to miss out on at the moment.

I think that Hazard and Kane will outscore Aguero and Eriksen from now until May, I know people are on a downer with Kane at the moment but those two combo's are the same money (I think) and I'd be very surprised to see Hazard and Kane come out on the losing side of that match up.
I'd agree with other comments that you don't need a Chelsea defender for the next 6 weeks, and once Coutinho is back I think you need him as he has genuinely elevated himself to being one of the best players in the league who is finally getting consistent points to match his talent.
The only other thing I would look at is maybe one differential midfielder as it is quite template, somebody like Pogba? - 12,3,7,10 - In his last 4 games.
