I think that has to be the only explanation for signing both. PvA and Schlupp down the left. But Schlupp further forward I think.

Do we think Holgate is now a gonner from an FPL perspective?

OK for a bench-bod? (And not worth a Transfer to get rid of, imho.)

With a load of wildcards incoming who's the current budget choice? Amat is starting to get very limited minutes again, ideally there'd be a better 4.1 option.

Stephens 4.0 or yoshida 4.3 saints but one will likely lose place to Caceres soon

Fernandez has Amats place and is 4.2

Cameron back in Stoke team last two and is 4.2 also

Surely it's Britos (WAT) at 4.3m.

The guy has only missed 4 out of 27 games, mainly due to knocks.

My 5th defender is definitely going to be a starter when I WC, with the bench boost and DGW's coming up, it's critical not to have a guy with a question mark over his head.

I've looked at Danny Simpson and Stones. They've been unpopular this season, but could prove useful with their fixture run and their teams recent run of form.

good point but Britos PPG is very uninspiring (2.2)

Stones feels like a big upgrade for not much more money. Not convinced he will play every week.

Wouldnt you go Morgan 4.7 over Simpson 4.8 ?

I would love Stones at such a cheap price, but he's susceptible to rotation. And further, it looks like he's rotated most often in easy home games, which is his best chance at clean sheets. I simply don't trust Pep.

Yeah. Probably why I don't pick him up.

Sahko at 4.7m is looking good. CPL have a couple of nice home games and could pick up a result of two on the road defensively.

I'd be very surprised if Stephens lasted in the first team much longer. Once Caceres is deemed to be match fit it will be him and Yoshida until Van Dijk is back

I know and Yoshida an easy 0.4 upgrade but until that happens I need Stephens for finance reasons ie until I downgrade king

Why not just WC after this GW? IT gives you an extra 3 weeks to decide and see what players will be fit after International break and what defenders will be available.

Middlesbrough's backline just took a potential blow with defensive-minded Karanka sacked. They had good fixtures from GW30 and a possible good GW34 double too. :(

Yeah, a shame. I'm rethinking Valdes now. At least we get a look at them this weekend before a lot of people WC to see if they're still good defensively.

This weekend can't tell us anything really. Until we know the new manager it will all be up in the air.

It could be Pardew. In which case the Boro defenders are killed stone dead for FPL. :(

I'm looking at Caballero @ £4.7m for my GW35 WC alongside Pickford.
City have 5 good fixtures to finish, including some of the best in probable DGW37, and he covers Pickford in GW38 who has Chelsea away

Giving

35 BOU
36 Hull
Bench Boost 37 probable fixtures
SWA, mid
LEI, WBA
38 Wat

Reluctantly going to need a replacement for the dropped FunisMori, budget up to 4.8.

I see Sakho and Britos mentioned on this page, but I think I would like Lovren or Cedric. Anyone else worth a consideration?

You should take a look at Lovren's gametime these last few weeks. ;)

I'd wait for the DGW announcements first.

With all the injuries at Swansea, what are the chances of Amat getting a game this week at home to Boro? Could do with him starting so i can bench Coleman as i need to also deal with Antonio!

Coleman is likely out for the rest of the season, may as well sell him this week.

Surprised there's talk on Davies now. You are weeks too late for that train. Rose is very close on full training and replaces Davies soon.

Any Watford fans know why Holebas was dropped last week? Has he lost his place or was that just a rest? My team has serious issues, so I could deal without having to bin him too!

I do. As mentioned in the transfers thread the next 3 FPL GW deadlines span just seven days. If Poch rules Rose out of this weekend's game then I'll be getting Davies in. With the second wildcard to wield in GW35 or 36, I only really need Davies for the next three GWs anyway.

Wouldn't mind a Watford defender from now until gw35 WC.

Kaboul looks a fairly safe puck but highly tempted by Janmaat and his massive attacking threat. But having only played very limited minutes is it too risky?

Is that an oxymoron?
