Yes, that's all correct. 'Hazard is expected to start' does not follow from what Conte has said. But neither does 'He is not expected to start', which is what you said. Neither are correct - we just don't know at present.
Is he expected to start? No = He is not expected to start

Or you like more "He is not 'expected to start' "? Happy?

I'm not sure why everything I say turns into a pages-long argument
It's because you don't think about the alternative view.

Sorry, we were just trying to be clear. I do see what you are trying to say - but over the years, English has become quite lazy, and people rarely say precisely what they mean, so the (often imprecise) colloquial expressions come to mean something slightly different commonly than perhaps you or I would like them to. Most people reading what you wrote originally would take it to mean that the expectation is that Hazard will not start - I know that's not what you meant, but I expect that's how most people would interpret it.

As a slight aside, I was mortified a couple of years ago when I discovered that the word 'literally' was to have a new definition in the dictionary, a meaning which means the precise opposite of it's traditional meaning (!) So after all these years of saying to people "No, you didn't literally laugh your head off" etc, I now have to accept that they have won, they can now use 'literally' as they wish. I queried how the dictionary could possibly change the rules like this, and a colleague explained to me that the dictionary is not a set of rules to be followed on how we should use language, but rather simply a report on how we do use language. Which was a real eye-opener for me.

So no offence intended. :) Back on topic, I don't want to jinx Hazard (as I'm keeping him definitely), but this season 9 times out of 10 when a player has been doubtful, he's ended up playing. (It's the ones who miss out completely unexpectedly that have been the problem!)
All sadly true (the literally bits).

What it does do is enable us to make initial judgements on those who use 'literally' in a manner we would (have) consider(ed) incorrect....

Well, he left FISO after this little argument between me and him:

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=121349&p=2937915#p2937906

So I felt a bit guilty. But I asked him why he left FISO, and he said it wasn't because of that argument, he just wanted to look somewhere else.

I think liquidfootball2 just wanted to look somewhere else.
what I saw, although jumped on it when it was over and didn't give it much credit at first, was in the rounded keeper one or two months ago, and iirc it was about/after one of those long exchanges regarding everton speculations.
I think he disliked someone way of commenting/discussing, and said "I might as well leave fiso at this point"
I confess it looked to me like a storm in a glass of water (howdoyousay?), so I didn't think it serious at the time

Probably looking at his posts from his profile, it sould be one of the most recent, if he kept his word/threat

Pulis confirms bids for four or five players, including Schneiderlin, who presumably would replace Fletcher.

I'm interested in 2 or 3 West Brom players for their good fixture run starting in January so I'll be keeping a close look on who else they bid for.

Yes, several clubs have them at least. Haven't followed any, but I have seen Klopp saying Coutinho have had a setback in his recovery, and is not training with the team yet. So probably not any chance of a return against City.

Oscar sold to Shanghai SIPG is worth mentioning

The Coutinho news, although bad for him and potential owners, is better news for Origi IMO. Especially with Mane heading to ACON soon.

true, but isn't Sturridge a big threat to Origi? especially in this heavy fixture period, and he changed the game the other night.

I thought this thread was for factual info from reputable sources preferably with quotes????
PleasedToMichu wrote:I have seen Klopp saying Coutinho have had a setback in his recovery,
Really? I have just seen a transcript and he said nothing of the sort! - He actually said he was ‘more or less’ on track with his recovery!!!

It isn't good news but just saying Coutinho's ambitious target (man city at new year) is unlikely to be met but even that is possible!

“I don’t think it will be, from this moment on, long-term still. But the game everybody is dreaming of, the City game for example – it was clear from the first second that this would be really unlikely, but it was the dream of Phil. So try to do it.

“In this moment, it’s not more likely than before but I don’t want to say it’s not possible. We have to see.”

Thanks for clarifying. I read my info from LFC's official supporter site in Norway. They're usually reliable.

I think this was the quotes that got misused;

“We cannot say if we do nothing it will take 10 days, and if we try something it will maybe be seven days or 12 if it’s too much.

“Medicine is a lot about experience and all the players are different. He was on a very good way then it was a little bit more difficult, because of a reaction in the ankle, and we had to cool down the situation a little bit. But he is still on a good way.

Update on Coutinho;

“The City game, for sure, too early - and pretty sure the Sunderland game is too early, too.”

"Klopp on Oxlade-Chamberlain: "Usually I don't say anything about transfer rumours but this one is nonsense."

Didn't find the actuall quote on Matip, but he's also confirming he will miss the City game.

Any news on GW20 press conferences? I assume there were a few today, but it's been quite difficult to keep a track of them.

Are there any tomorrow before the deadline? Where can one find a weekly list of times?

Lol, I can still guarantee he won't score tonight :)

I'm happy with Baines, had him for two games and he's scored 22 points

Alonso needs to score 20 to therefore before 'essential'
