Re: Who To Bench Thread 2016/17
I'd go with Phillips.
My dilemmas are:
Foster (BOU) or Jaku (BUR) and
PvA (MID) or Holebas (WHU).
Currently benching the latters.

I'd do the same unless you already have a WBA defender playing in which case I'd play JakuFoxx wrote:I'd go with Phillips.

Re: Who To Bench Thread 2016/17
I'd definitely play PVA, I mean he's the guy capable of scoring a couple of goals perhaps. Foster or Jaku, I'd probably play Foster but I don't really expect a cleansheet from either, the odds I saw has Jaku on 40% with Foster 36% if that helps at all.Foxx wrote:I'd go with Phillips.

Heaton or Randolph?
Both have the same odds of a clean sheet at the bookies so it's a toss up

Heaton's the better keeper though. Collects bonus points more than any other keeper too. So he rarely scores 6. It's why I play him every single game!!

Re: Who To Bench Thread 2016/17
I think I may be guilty of over planning for this GW. Unlike many, I have players to spare.
Andy Carroll probably won't play. Fine. If so, Phillips is the man I have to replace him. But that leaves Holebas, de Roon and Heaton all on the bench. (I'm playing Siggy).
It did make me think... Is this a good week to play bench boost? I never got much benefit before. But with some teams unable to field XI, maybe it's a good differential. Or do people think there'll be a better moment?

I've thought about it for this week. If Burnley were to keep a clean sheet I could get a few points from it, but there should be a better bet in a DGW.huey wrote:I think I may be guilty of over planning for this GW. Unlike many, I have players to spare.

Maybe true about the DGW point. I'll probably save my TC for a DGW. Though there's likely to be more than just one. My idea was more about this being a good moment to exploit the relative strength of my squad.BobMem wrote:I've thought about it for this week. Bench one from Pedro, Barkley, Antonio
the two midfielders who will play are Mane & Eriksen

Barkley just edging Antonio for me.Gambit wrote:Bench one from Pedro, Barkley, Antonio

Currently got Barnes, Phillips and Foster benched.
Here's my team:
Jakupovic
Brunt, Baines, Coleman, Alonso
Hazard, Alli, Siggy, Mane
Costa, Lukaku (C)
Sound good? Bit worried I'm seeing a lot of teams with Phillips in them, but that may just be due to non-playing players this week.

I am sure I won't be alone on this one...
Jakupovic (BUR) or Heaton (hul)
Currently on Jakupovic as I think better chance of CS, but I imagine Heaton may have better chance of bonus, even with no CS...

Peiters 1 point this week. De Roon may be 2 points this weektarkens wrote:De Roon (cry) or Pieters (tot)?
De Roon plays Palace, Stoke, BLANK, United
Pieters has Spurs, Brough, City, Chelsea
They will both get 90 mins Pieters will get average 1.25 pm and De Roon will get an average 1.5 pm. over 4 matches.
Long term or one match? I would not pick Pieters even over De Roon with one less match.
GW 26 De Roon 2 points. Pieters 1 point would be my pick fwiw

I have a similar dilemma with Jaku (BUR) or Foster (BOU). I think WBA have the better chance of a clean sheet, but Jaku greater chance of save points. Close one. I think I'll probably stick with Foster but I suspect Jaku with the home fixture is the better bet for you.Tallerico wrote:I am sure I won't be alone on this one...

Andy Carroll or Andrew Robertson?
I'm guessing play Carroll on the assumption he either starts or doesn't feature at all?

I actually came in here to ask what you're doing with Carroll News reports tip him to make the bench so do we risk him coming on for a 1pt or chance him scoring late or play a defender? I don't have Robertson (yet) but for me it's Funes Mori who would replace him.Notned wrote:Andy Carroll or Andrew Robertson?

He is injury free (is that even possible for him?) but not match fit.“He’s doubtful as far as starting the game is concerned but it really is great news that the groin injury is now 100 per sorted,” a club source told Hammers fan site Claret and Hugh.
However, he has missed several weeks of training so we can’t consider him fit to play from the start against Watford.”

Tough one isn't it! I think I may risk it, but it's a close call with us both having a relatively strong alternative.math! wrote:I actually came in here to ask what you're doing with Carroll News reports tip him to make the bench so do we risk him coming on for a 1pt or chance him scoring late or play a defender? I brought him into the starting 11 for Mori with less than a minute before the deadline.Notned wrote:Tough one isn't it! Looking ahead to next week, what's the general consensus about Everton defenders (Spurs away)? Benching or playing?

I'm probably going to play Coleman and bench Baines alongside T.Carroll and Barnes.

Yeah that's sort of my issue too, have to bench either
Holebas home to Soton
Baines away to Spurs
Morrison home to Palace
Baines is my gut feeling but the penalties thing is always an issue

You're probably right. I just thought both are likely to concede and I expect City to have far more shots than Swansea.BobMem wrote:I think I'd bench Pickford. Heaton sometimes just pulls a match winning performance out.Joccki_10 wrote:Heaton (swa) or Pickford (MCI)?

I'm definitely playing Brunt and benching at least one of Baines/Coleman, maybe even both.
