Re: Paul Pogba
Since when is a player's worth measured solely by how much they score?

I don't recall Jimmy Greaves or Denis Law doing much tracking back, and it would have been difficult for them to claim many assists when they never actually passed the ball to anyone else.CigaretteSmokingMan wrote:Since Li'l Mickey Owen.MPTree wrote:Since when is a player's worth measured solely by how much they score?

Who do you support? Oh wait it doesn't matter, you'd just want United to lose rather than your own team win.From4corners wrote:Manchester United fan, are we?Tranners wrote:He was 89 million, and anyone who thinks Capoue is over 4 times the player Pogba is needs their head testing, it's been 6 games, calm downgallus wrote:oh he scored a goal. I thought that was obvious from my post
Hence the separation of the two terms rather than reference to simply 'a players worth'

Re: Paul Pogba
so, what is the general view on Pogba at the moment?
always thought he was too expensive for his point potential but he's now got 32 points in his last 4 games, and looks to be really dominating games now and becoming central to all their play.
Fixtures still very good and I'm considering him as something of a differential, only 10% ownership and probably not in many high ranked teams.
Midfield options at the moment are a bit all over the place with:
Walcott and his perpetual fitness problems
Siggy and Swansea being completely awful
Mane soon to depart
Coutinho, no confirmed return date?
Pedro/Willian fighting for one spot?
Anybody else considering Pogba or is he still not a viable option?

Re: Paul Pogba
He's playing very very well but with MKH a resurgent Martial in front of him I'd expect better returns from them, but that's reflected in their price I suppose.
He owned seria A and looks the part now , but fantasy football is a different kettle of fish

Re: Paul Pogba
true, I have looked at them both as I have always rated Mkhitaryan and Martial was brilliant last year. They are both a bit more pricey though as you say (9.0 and 9.3 v 8.4)Billy Bongo wrote:He's playing very very well but with MKH a resurgent Martial in front of him I'd expect better returns from them, but that's reflected in their price I suppose.

The other thing that concerns me is that JM will rotate a little bit in those wide attacking areas - Mata, Lingard, Rashford, Rooney? they will all get minutes, whereas I think Pogba is alongside Ibra and DDG as being the 1st name on the team sheet.
Would like to get ONE of them in as they all have low ownership and United look to be the team on an upward surge with more good fixtures to come.

Re: Paul Pogba
I dont think Jose is a rotating manager, look at Chelsea, once he found his starting 11 he stuck with them.
Martial has had issue off the pitch and MKH injurys I think he's juts been managing them carefully but who knows.
That's their best front 4 and on every attack almost either of them could score
Pogba more an ozil assister I think

I'd normally agree with you 100% that JM is not a rotating manager and I agree that is the best front 4.Billy Bongo wrote:I'm not Jose is a rotating manager, look at Chelsea, once he found his starting 11 he stuck with them.

but, have you seen the fixtures? with the FA Cup, 2 legged LC Semi Final, AND the Europe League it looks really congested and I do think he will mix it up with the players either side of Ibra.

anyway, now we have discussed the possible rotation issues do you see Pogba as a viable pick at 8.4?Billy Bongo wrote:Anything is possible, but he coverts that forth spot the rest is where he will rotate I think

Paul Pogba
I got him in this GW (19) for a hit and am looking to keep him as long as their fixtures allow.

He's 3 yellow cards away from a 2 match ban.
