Aldershot Rejects wrote:Completely disagree with you here - Lukaku has been horribly out of form and Kane is scoring for fun. Form over fixtures says this was a solid transfer. Lukaku scoring doesn't change that. No way transferring Kane in can be regarded as knee-jerk unless you regard transferring any form player in as knee-jerk. Transferring Gundog in after his brace was knee-jerk (I should know).
"Kane is scoring for fun"...not exactly true when you consider the number of pens and 6-yard tap ins he has had. Kane from last season who was scoring from range, from the edge of the box and from tight angles? Absolutely, get him in...although against United away it would still somewhat dependent on who you're getting him out for.

The current Kane is in good form, once you miss getting him in for GW 14 I don't see the reason to then drop Lukaku GW 15 (who has a history of doing exactly what he is doing right now) for him instead of waiting until GW 16, other than to avoid/inflate price. If that's the case, then I'm saying that it's about time that sort of transfer which is based on money ends up being balanced by a loss in points.

People will call Lukaku getting a brace misfortune but it's not really. The people that got Kane in for him GW 14 aren't losing anything right now, only the guys that got him in GW 15 are and rightly so.

In that position now where I need to hope a big-name player misses a game tomorrow so I can grab Prodl's points...

Gauranteed Cedric, Van Aanholt or A. Smith will come a blank!

Sorry, I hadn't realised that tap ins and penalties didn't count ;) If he is scoring well without the long range efforts etc, then surely it can only get better.

You obviously disagree with the transfer (btw Lukaku went from my team ages ago) which is fine. It's a game of opinions, but to disparage it as 'knee jerk' just sounds condescending.

Anyway, I'm glad Lukaku rewarded your patience.

He's still attempting those shots but isn't converting them. We know what Kane is like when he's scoring for fun :)

Knee-jerk only covers some of the transfers, some had to do it because of price changes but surely those guys must've been prepared to take the loss this GW for the long-term.

I'd like to claim that I absolutely saw this coming but I would've also dumped Lukaku weeks ago if I hadn't had an injury or ban every week for the last 6 weeks to deal with. I've kept him more because I've had more pressing issues rather than out of patience tbh.

Anyway, Kane has yet to play and could score a brace too, but looking on paper Kane getting a brace against United is certainly more jammy than Lukaku getting one against Watford. If this was next week and Lukaku got something against Arsenal and Kane blanked against Hull then the outrage would be justified.

It's the same old story as so many times this season - the opposing team's players are trying very hard to assist Sanchez goals. It's incredible how many these kind of cheap chances Sanchez has received from opposing players this season.

It is mostly a coincidence. Yes, he is playing up front and yes, he might be good at pressing defenders, but the amount of cheap chances he has received is totally ridiculous.

Mustafi off injured (Hamstring); Bellerin on. Mustafi really has been a poor buy - planned to transfer him out this week anyway but hoped for a nice cs send off. Clean sheet inevitable now!

They've been really poor at the back recently, haven't they?

I think Smith would be the one to go from my defence if I ever have a free transfer again that isn't needed for injury/suspension.

Mustafi off with hamstring injury. Gabriel over xmas anyone?

Sounds like Snodgrass may well have dived for the penalty as he was already on a yellow, that is an enormous swing.
