given last season was 1 exact month, as a rookie I thought that was a rule lol
from the above table here's the actual days advance, starting from most recent

otoh it hadn't been starting in single-digit date in last 5 yrs

I do notice from the blurb there that the official app is now going to be free.

If my memory is correct these sort of rebuilds usually come with a delayed start and initial buggy-ness so there's that to possibly look forward to. But we should hypothetically be a week or two away now. FPL said recently that they'll be forgoing UFPL this year to concentrate on the FPL improvements so there may well be more than big visual changes.

Sounds about right. What I'd suggest, as per the last time this happened*, is that people wait until 10ish on the opening Saturday to work on their team. Always seems like a popular choice.

Looks that way, if you go on the site, hit the menu and search the players list, it shows the position all the players are listed as.

Problem is, they stay as such even when you filter by Season,that is, they are FWD even when you search by 2015/16
that could mislead you to think they were FWD in 2015/16 too...
Of course that's the current classification, it would be harder to list a player as FWD in one season and as a mid in a past one

It might be that PL just list them as forwards but in the actual fpl game they won't be. not sure though, will have to go through some old Excel files, where I might have some team lists when I get home, maybe that can confirm my theory

Yes, this is spot on imo.

The same observation about some players listed as forwards was made pre-season last season (edit: digging - viewtopic.php?f=18&t=116575#p2717098) and Sanchez/Walcott ended up as midfielders as usual:

This is a list of premier league players though and not fantasy premier league players. I think they will still be midfielders in FPL.
