Yeah, those are my thoughts. Leaning more towards Sturridge as he has a game the next week.

Are people fairly certain that Fosu-Mensah will start both games? Have we had any encouraging words from LVG?

I'm still torn about doing the following two transfers for a hit:

Lennon  Townsend
Delaney  Fosu-Mensah

I'm not wild about Townsend's prospects but he does play in GW35 so is a calculated risk at least. If TFM is regular United starter now then I'm keen to get him even though it means doubling up with Smalling.

Yes, he has the game, but will he get the minutes? With Martial we can count on 160/180mnts over 2 games. As for Sturrides 3 I can see something between 120/200.

Even though, if I was in your place, Sturridge would probably be my choice.

A - Wollsheid  Smalling
Vardy  Rashford (4 pts hit)

B - Daniels  Smalling
Vardy  Rashford
Mahrez  Coutinho (8 pts hit and would have to play Wolls away against city in 35)

C - Wollscheid  Smalling
Vardy  Rashford
Daniels  Koscielny (8 pts hit)

Maxed out on Pool and Arse so...Bolasie  Nasri

gets me an extra player for 35... a game I fully expect him to play ahead of the RM game.
Easily bench-able for the rest of season if needs-be.
Also provides a bit of insurance for this week should KDB not start in either of the games. The flip side is that neither of those 2 is likely to play 180 mins in the DG but that can probably be said about 80% of players. :?

play hennesey or forster? i've only got one FT and i'd ideally like to ship bolaise to iwobi and put in de gea for hennesey but i've got lukaku who is now a doubt and i have bellerin as my only def with two games.

bringing in lukaku and bolaise with my 2 FT last GW really backfired. i ended up benching ali and dier to play them

Martial if you don't have him. Kane if you can afford him. Carroll is an interesting idea, especially if you don't have Payet.

I did Kane  Martial, but if I had to do it again at this moment, I might prefer Rashford.

Kane might work as I think I was planning on bringing him back around 35 otherwise Pato/Origi have me intrigued

Just annoying seeing that I wildcarded last week to bring in Lukaku, Martial to join Aguero

I would definitely be considering him if I didn't already have Lanzini and Payet. 2011 Caroll is making a brief but convincing comeback I feel.

Origi is indeed interesting. I'm surprised he hasn't been suggested more. Do people expect him to lose his place in the next 2/3?

I am reluctantly considering
Lennon  Nasri (got a very good feeling about him)
Lukaku  Origi/ Rashford

OR

Lennon  Lingard (got a decidedly bad feeling about him)
Lukaku  Sturridge

both for -4

I like the move to Sturridge - Do you have a LIV Mid? Do you have Payet?

I am looking at a number of moves to also transfer out Lennon and Lukaku; Payet would be my top MF option as several of my rivals have him.

Well, Having Lennon and Lukaku. Had to do Lennon to Iwobi, Gabriel to Mensah, and Lukaku to Mitro

-8pts after having wildcarted GW 33

Yeah, I unfortunately have both Payet and a Liverpool mid.
My team at the moment is

Robles - Darlow
Gabriel - Bellerin - Fuchs - Sakho - Smalling
Coutinho - Payet - Lanzini - Sanchez - Lennon
Kun - Martial - Lukaku

If I didn't already have 3 from Arsenal I would bring in Iwobi without a second thought.
I'm currently leaning towards Nasri & Origi... unless someone can give me a reason that Origi is a bad bet?

Lukaku  Martial
Bolasie  Firmino

Locked in for free. Plus;

A) Lennon  Townsend -4
or
B) Lennon/Gabriel  Iwobi/5m Defender -8

I'll definitely add one of the these two options, just not sure which?

If I could afford Lennon  Townsend I would certainly do that.

And hold Gabriel and hope for the best, you think? I guess it's a case of is Gabriel/Townsend 4 points better than 5m def/Iwobi?

I quite like your proposed moves by the way, although deciding between Origi and Rashford could be tricky! Similarly at risk of rotation, but similarly capable of scoring well too... Bit of a coin toss that one!

No hard feelings for sure, but I don't quite know why some of you are transferring in Firmino. Didn't he get most of his points playing as a lone striker? And now that Sturridge is back and Origi is let's say in good form, I don't think Firmino will be scoring lots of points on the short term. But hey, who am I to say such a thing? :P

Considering your options, I would go for B. I think Gabriel wasted his chance last weekend.
Maybe add Rojo to your team if you don't have any defensive United cover. If you do, Moreno (or Clichy if you aren't afraid of rotation) is an option?

I have Gabriel too and am not thinking about wasting a transfer to do what would essentially be a straight swap. He was extremely underwhelming, I agree, but you guys really expect him not to play?

Wenger on whether Mertesacker will return: "I haven’t decided yet. We are 48 hours away from the game so I will see".

I just think Firmino will be fresher than the rest, having missed a couple of games recently and been subbed early last night, so maybe more likely to get the bulk of the minutes?

I already own Rojo and Sakho on your last point, if that influences things?

I think I'd go Lennon > Townsend, it's a tough call though. Gabriel does make me a bit nervous.

Way more disruption this week than I thought there would be, been relatively calm otherwise since the GW32 WC..

I'm thinking a -8 as well.. If Lukaku doesn't make it that is...

Ward (I'm doubled with Hennessey) > Fosu-Mensah
Bolasie > KDB
Lennon > Townsend
Lukaku > Carroll

If Lukaku is fit then it's think again..

Anyone any thoughts whether I should take a careful step back from the edge, or go ahead and jump?

Hmm, you could be right. Although if he is fresher, he still won't be playing as a striker. I'm not convinced anyway, but I wish you the best of luck.

And I guess you own Bellerín too? In that case I wouldn't be in a rush to get Gabriel out.

Please, someone explain the rush to get rid of Gabriel. I know he's not great but surely he will play at least 2 out of 3?

Yep, I also own Bellerin!

It's just the comments from Wenger about being unsure whether he will bring Mert back in or not. Probably reading too much into it, but seems strange that he mentioned him specifically. I did always say Gabriel is a good pick even if he only plays one next week given the fixtures though, so maybe need to revert to that.

It's not so much Gabriel in isolation I'm judging though.. it's my Lennon replacement. I like the look of Iwobi, but obviously would have to remove Gabriel to free up space. I also like Townsend as a punt, but does he have the potential to get within 4 points of Iwobi this week? It's a tough one.
