Re: Analysing strategy for the run-in: The wildcard strategy league
Update on strategies...
Quite a few WCs played this week, but apart from the chance to jettison some dead wood, I would expect the main effect of this to be realized in GW37. Among those without a WC to play, quite a number took transfer hits this week.
49 in the league.
Overall: 1 WC still to play, 16 BB to play, 24 TC to play.
In the top 10 (as of the end of GW35), the BB/TC balance is the other way round.
GW35 top 10: 1 WC still to play, 4 BB to play, 2 TC play.
I'll do an update on points after the end of the GW.

If you want a like for like comparison, surely those with BB and/or TC who used them outside the window of the league should have those scores added on.

I'm well and truly bottom of the league, safe to say the last 4 or 5 weeks have been a disaster for my team!

Re: Analysing strategy for the run-in: The wildcard strategy league
Strategy-wise, everyone in the league is all-in now, as far as WC, BB and TC chips go. No-one has kept their TC back for Sanchez, or maybe Welbeck, in GW38.
I'll close the league to new entries once the game goes live at the start of GW38.

Purely for data size here's another one!
WC 33 BB 34 TC 38 (because forgot to play in 37 which is looking not a bad move!?)

Re: Analysing strategy for the run-in: The wildcard strategy league
i think there's a differce between "not a bad move" and simply getting away with it this time, gw 34 captains outscored their expected points by a large margin, and gw 37 captains have so far all been disapointing.Yard of Grass wrote:Purely for data size here's another one!

that being said i made the same mistake gw 34 and got punished and will join you in the gw 38 TC camp.

Finally got around to joining you all. TC Payet tonight should mean that I don't join at the bottom but I won't be far offSmurphy's Paw wrote:Still not entered but I will. I'm a GW33 Wildcard, GW34 BBer.
I have just done a rough points count. Had I retained my GW32 squad, with pretty much no transfers, retaining the same captains (although Sanchez would have been TC this week) I believe that I would have been ahead of my current position by roughly the 25 TC points.
Plus my GW35 team would be stronger, fewer rotation risks and the potential of the GW37 wildcard still in the bank.
Granted I do have my TC chip left. I'm not convinced that hindsight will identify the strategy I employed as the optimum one though!
