Re: Analysing strategy for the run-in: The wildcard strategy league
Just joined there. Not sure after todays games i'll be included in the GW32 scores or whether i'll be positioned from GW33 onwards?
Would've been top on 79 points as it stands (Not that it matters)
The Surprise Package - WC in 32, BB 34 and TC 37.

I found out that to be in a GW ML ranking, you just need to join it before the last GW match (no info yet whether KO or FT), not before its deadlineswadd1er wrote:Just joined there. Not sure after todays games i'll be included in the GW32 scores or whether i'll be positioned from GW33 onwards?

Re: Analysing strategy for the run-in: The wildcard strategy league
I apologise, I thought it useful to point out two minor elements which will influence the outcome of the analysis, which after all is the topic purpose.
Due to my poor judgement, it turns out I have instead cluttered the thread with irrelevant issues, which merit wasn't even worth to be discussed in the topic.
The above comment is just to explain the reason why I removed the content of the "inappropriate" posts:
it's not my habit indeed to edit out something I posted, I trust you'll understand I'm not doing it because I'm somehow "offended" (?),
and I hope you'll grant me I'm mature enough to not be sulking either.
I'm just sorry for my mistake, making amends and serenely obliging.

I am sure you will have many more issues to raise, but really, this exercise was not intended to be the basis for recondite statistical (or other) discussions. The intention was to take a quick snapshot of the "4 basic strategies in town" to see if there was any obvious message (OP). So, I'll try to go through your posts and reply point-by-point, but will do so by PM not here, and it may take me a little while. Apologies for that.

Re: Analysing strategy for the run-in: The wildcard strategy league
OK, post GW32 snapshot. So far, I've just been through the thread and picked out the WC declarations there. I can go back later and confirm these and pull others from the team pages.
We have
WC0 - played before GW32
WC32 - played in GW32
WC33 - to be played in GW33
WC36 - to be played in GW36
WC32 has ranks 1,3, 5, 6, 15
WC33 has ranks 2, 4, 27, 30=
WC36 has ranks 7, 8=, 18, 22, 24, 25
WC0 has ranks 16, 26
(total is less than the league membership because not all thread entries yet give specific details of which GW for WC use.)
No-one has yet had any DGW action, but the relatively high ranks of the WC32 entries suggests that on the whole they successfully got rid of some dead wood in the process of DGW preparation...
Now the WC32 cadre steps up...
And for the incorrigible seekers of individual glory, the standings are here!

Hi Mose,
Please give me time, and I will try to deal with your concerns, including marginal bias and strategic decision making and other issues, BUT I will do so by PM, not in this thread.

Just to muddy the water
I took a 4ph for GW32 (so prior to the league counting points) purely because I'm a WC36 kind of guy.
I'm far enough down the league as it is though, so can I keep them? (in fact I'm the worst of the GW36 WCers )

Just re-posting this as it kinda got lost in the rigmarole above.
Anyone who wants to join, please do, it's not too late. The basic idea and the league code are in the OP.

Suppose I'm a bit of a niche if I join in here.
-BB already used
-DGW34 squad can be achieved with 9 doublers + Mahrez/Kane with only a -4. Plan to TC Sanchez.
-GW35 I'll field 11 by transferring Hennessey out with my 1FT.
-WC in DGW37 to get 11 doublers whilst keeping some Arsenal coverage benched for VIL in GW38.
