2008-9 -58045
2009-10 - 58107
2010-11 - 4890
2011-12 - 7582
2012-13 - 6176
2013-14 - 109957
2014-15 - 9503
2015-16 - 1049436

In my previous worst season I was around the million mark at GW12 or so and steadily improved. This season I'm around 120 points away from the top 100k and realistically is gone. Top 180k (or 5%) would just about be acceptable and top 360k should be realistic with effective chip-play.

Similarish story here (bar the new job years over 300k) but this season is far more extreme:

2006/07 152966
2007/08 171445
2008/09 9383
2009/10 6159
2010/11 111336
2011/12 358857
2012/13 309998
2013/14 39770
2014/15 28977
2014/15 1824714

I've got all chips left but given how little I've moved in the last few half decent GWs I don't hold out much hope.

2013/14 962,836 - First season. Oh, how clueless was I.
2014/15 39,481 - Pretty good season. I was around top 10k at some point but the last quarter of the season went pretty bad.
2015/16 102,070 - Third season and the first as a fisoer. Could be better, could be worse.

I have made a lot of silly moves this season too and I think I can be a lot better next season.

I went up from 180k to 77k overnight. I will fall back today because I've only got 2 players left, but I was amazed how big a green arrow I got. Made me realise that there is still a chance of big gains if you cover the main players and get a couple of differentials right.

Seeing the number of participants who seem unaware of the games off because of the League Cup Final today, I can see why those with previous experience anticipate being able to make a late surge up the rankings, particularly with the complications and uncertainty surrounding rescheduled games with the consequent opportunities afforded those who stay wrapped up warm inside until they are sure there is no chance of snow, in June.

I presume it IS, however, a bit like holing an infeasibly long putt at the 18th for a lucky birdie to break 100 after a dismal round of golf: it gives you some hope that next time you might get it right!

That last bit is where I've failed badly this season. It's not really been the season for differentials so far and any I've had have been at the wrong times.

I scored the same and went up a similar amount, just goes to show you should never give up in this game, one decent tally and you can forget four weeks of poor scores.

Maybe that is one of the differences this year. In previous years, I've generally had at least one run with 6 or 7 green arrows in 8 weeks. This year it seems to be that one good week is followed by three or four weeks when I don't go anywhere.

Seems that way. I think the way to go at the moment is 1-2 attacking differentials and then try and get the right picks in defence.

Then the most obvious thing is get the captain pick right.

These chips and DGWs will make a huge difference as well one of my main Ml rivals is 30 ahead of me but has used his BB - having 15 DGW players in gw34 could easily make that up with a bit of luck.

I wish I had a record anywhere near as good as that. But don't give up, top 100k (at least) is still achievable - and I suspect that 50k is not completely out of the picture.

Think the tide is starting to turn towards differentials now:

Antonio out scoring Payet
Firmino went on that four game run of 40 points
Daniels is smashing it at 5.8%
Forster was a great under owned pick
Costa since Hiddink

First half of the season I got stung by most differentials. Now it seems the tide is changing.

Just hoping Sanchez delivers soon.

I'll be very disappointed if I don't make top 10k and would hope for top 5k.

Last season's 12k finish was my first FPL season. Currently I'm around 30k with all the key chips intact.

I don't know why, but I had it in mind that you had been playing for years! Last season was my first too, so we're both relative novices. Well I say 'relative', it's more 'absolute' novice for me

Similar goals for this season. Currently I'm around 20k with the 3 essential chips left.
Obviously want to win, or at least be in the top 3 of my 100€ buy-in league as well. Currently second.
Third season for me.

I was surprised during the break to see the gap to the top 10k (from 77k) was 55 points, so that's the target now. After GW27 the gap for me is now 49 points - just keep whittling away at it. 2nd in both money leagues, but the gap to the leaders isn't one I'm worried about, one good week could sort both of those out.

Top 10k who have never finished there before is currently at 93.88% will have to keep an eye on that over the coming weeks.

It certainly seems amazingly low compared to normal. In the previous two seasons the Top 10k finishers consisted of about 21% and 36% respectively of entrants with previous 10k finishes - so the fact that we're currently on 6% probably says a lot about what type of season this has been.

We'll surely see an upsurge though as, pretty consistently, around 20% of the final Top 10k don't get there till after or on GW30. You'd imagine a larger proportion than usual of those late Top10 entrants will come from the more experienced end of the spectrum, but getting enough to reach near the 21% final tally of 2013/14 seems very unlikely. And absolutely no chance of even getting in the same stratosphere as last season's rate of 36%.

With the chips in play huge jumps are possible. The guy in first in my mini-league has gone from 240k -> 7k in just 7 weeks.

If you get the captain picks mostly right from here on out and have the ability to wildcard in 15 DGW players for the bench boost chip, plus a DGW triple captain to boot then making up 125+ pts isn't out of the question. Obviously you have to run good but the managers who've planned well up to this point and preserved their bench boost and triple captain chips can make up substantial ground.

Been an awful season overall, but the first in which I've started to play *properly* toward the end at least. So I dunno, top 500k end of season.

* In England

Its a write off, so I'm lliking for mostly greens until next season, in which itts on

Going to keep track of the aim to break the top 10k

Code: Select all

  Week Rank Deficit
  GW26 77295 55
  GW27 62427 49
  GW28 63356 50
Daniels left on the bench was the difference from a small red arrow to a small green one, but would have cut 10% off the required 10k total!

  GW28 63356 50
  GW29 43301 40
20% knocked off the required total.

I'd thought that all it would take was one good week to close the majority of the gap in the money league, I just didn't think it would be this one. The leader managed to not have Aguero/Siggy/Payet/Yaya/Scoring defenders and as a result coughed up 41 points and the lead to me this week.

Sat at 25k. I'd love a fourth top 10k and I'd be happy with beating last years rank of 22k.

Hard to know what's possible with all my chips ready to go. They all seem really over powered with DGWs. With a bit of luck the Wc, Bb, TC could fire me up a fair bit.

Anyone have any idea on percentages of chips used in the top 50k? Hopefully a good percentage of the people above me have blown them already.

TC played: 48%
BB played: 58%

Just to give a few crumbs of comfort in the last 11 weeks I've moved from ~900k to 99k without the use of my chips. That was done without taking too many risks although I got on payet early and brought in Antonio for a few weeks aswell.

By no means a great score but given where I was at the start of the season a nice turn around. Plenty of time to duck it up yet though! :D
