De Bruyne Vs Silva
KDB 10.3 and Silva 10.1, who's the better pick?

Re: De Bruyne Vs Silva
I don't think there will be much in it over the season, only thing I would say is that Silva always seems to pick up little knocks and niggles, if they both stay fit and play a similar amount of minutes I can't see there being a huge difference.
Silva may get protected more in terms of early subs as despite the goal getting prowess of Aguero I still think Silva is their best player and the one who knits it all together.
So if forced to pick I would say KDB.

Silva limped off during tonight's International game. Didn't look good to say the least.

KDB for me, Silva is an awesome player but too many times I've seen him be the assist to the assist

Re: De Bruyne Vs Silva
I opted for Silva instead of kdb before the 6-1, mainly as a differential, and regretted it - even before silva's injury, as the match showed that silva is integral to city but just not in an fpl points way
Of course, with injuries kdb's the only attractive city option but how will he score without the likes of yaya, silva and aguero either playing him in, or providing a goal scoring outlet or at least taking away defenders attention. If i'm defending against City i'm more likely to leave kdb in space and keep on top of aguero, but if its bony i'm more likely to try and shut down kdb

Maybe Navas and Sterling out wide with the fullbacks backing them up, to stretch the defence.

Yep, and Bony sitting in the third tier row F to get onto their crosses.math! wrote:mitchyg1980 wrote:If i'm defending against City i'm more likely to leave kdb in space and keep on top of aguero, but if its bony i'm more likely to try and shut down kdb

Yes it's the second time I've used that joke and I'll continue using whilst people keep talking about Navas and Sterling as capable footballers.

Re: De Bruyne Vs Silva
I made a similar, less cruel comment, about the pair of them and the route to Bony. How apt is Navas's first name? (As a kid I took to calling myself Forchristsake, as my father addressed me as such quite often.)NoEyeDeer wrote:Yep, and Bony sitting in the third tier row F to get onto their crosses.math! wrote:mitchyg1980 wrote:If i'm defending against City i'm more likely to leave kdb in space and keep on top of aguero, but if its bony i'm more likely to try and shut down kdb

Re: De Bruyne Vs Silva
Good work. You managed to find the one successful cross he's made in 10 years, and it was from last weeks match.
And it was only successful due to KDB's class. Doubt Bony would have converted that.
Navas is a joke, and I dare you to bring him into your team.

Re: De Bruyne Vs Silva
I wouldn't even tink of it and, speaking as a City fan, he is hella frustrating, but his introduction changed the match. Apart from one attribute, he is, dare I say it, quality. Unfortunately, that one attribute is end product.

Regarding last gw, did he coming on change the game, or was it more Sterling going off.
Both as bad as each other imo.
Sorry.

Way, way worse.blahblah wrote:Is he worse than Theo? Or is that a new thread )
It begs the perfect question regarding the two:
Do you want a quality player with consistently no end product, or a player with less quality that consistently offers an end product?
I think the answers quite simple.

Re: De Bruyne Vs Silva
I'm not sure. Sitting in the crowd behind the goal either way is a tad brave - throw Sterling into the mix and I'm surprised more don't wear crash helmets

Re: De Bruyne Vs Silva
In a totally different way. Sterling, so far, has been sruggling to pass the ball 5 yards, while Navas' ball retention & general buildup has been excellent.NoEyeDeer wrote:You basically just said what I said, but in the nicest way possible.sunnO)))jihai wrote:I wouldn't even tink of it and, speaking as a City fan, he is hella frustrating, but his introduction changed the match. Re: De Bruyne Vs Silva
Good call, but I continue to stand by my comments despite this gw's result.
Navas and Sterling are pants. Lucky players in a very good team that masks their flaws and helps their output massively.
Does that make them bad fpl picks? Probably not, and potentially quite the opposite, but I'm not going near them.

Where he wouldn't have to cross, or apparently even pass.

What do we think about this?
If he was declared fit for the weekend I would get him 100 % but looks like he might be saved for CL?

Risking him from the start against Norwich would be naive and daft?
