It will be interesting to see what would happen with the prices if Hazard scores heavily this weekend and Sanchez blanks again with their prices so similar. However one thing in Sanchez' favour is the fact that only 13% own him whereas nearly a third of people own Hazard. Hazard really is the one who needs a decent score this week!

Burning a transfer to swap from one to the other at any point last season (and I suspect this) was fraught with massive potential danger. Like I said before if he takes the next pen in any competition and scores it, he stays for the duration. Anything else and I'll have to have a long hard think.

Definitely could have a big impact on scores as to who comes out top in the head to head tomorrow.

The one thing in favour of keeping Hazard that I can think of is that after this week he plays Newcastle and Southampton, both of whom have RBs that like to go forward a lot and are as a consequence often caught out of position. In fact, there's probably not many more suitable RBs for Hazard to play against.

I guess another thing is that because his ownership amongst the dead teams is clearly very high, he may be slightly slower to drop in price as some other players - 10% need to sell. There could become a point where 10% of his total ownership outstrips the ownership amongst active managers, in which case it would be impossible for him to drop in price further. I think the ownership level amongst active managers is already almost certainly significantly lower than the 30%-odd overall ownership. :?

I have just done Hazard -> Countinho (partly spurred by this thread), will see how he goes but Sanchez is a long term target. Hazard has to be a lower priority playing for an out of form team without the underlying stats and maybe having lost pens too. I was determined to keep him but I see this as a good time to try something else, and will happily bring him back if his situation changes.
I like Coutinho for next 2 but passed on him because the subsequent were not so happy.

And yes I was being sarcastic. If I had to pick a single mid after Mahrez to start a WC it would be Sanchez. This Arsenal bunch isn't going to miss every big chance for too much longer.

Why does everyone have such a hard on for Hazard all of a sudden?

Post by Blaze »

I keep hearing people saying they have plans to bring in Hazard over the next week or two. His stats are totally sh*t. And apparently 11.0 is too expensive for Sanchez when Hazard is 11.3 lol.

Maybe it's because now Eva is gone he can pay full attention to the game because he doesn't have to pretend to be a bit injured to encourage her to run on and rub his groin.

Got a slight feeling it may be down to averaging 208 points in his 3 FPL seasons?

I can't remember them exactly, but his shooting and penalty area stats were pretty good in the last game I think. The point is they are improving all the time, they have a very good run of games coming up, and he is a player of proven quality who won't (or at least shouldn't) misfire for long.

I'm considering captaining him this week, actual. Well, he is in a pool of three strong candidates.

One thing in Hazard (and Pedro's favour) this weekend; I have just read that along with Hadaira being out Janmaat is also doubtful... Hazard against a full back-less Newcastle has to be a tempting captaincy candidate?

Janmaat being out greatly increases Newcastle's chance of a CS :P

He could do the business but there is no reason to take the risk with the armband right? He has looked woeful, his goal wasn't even his (FPL screws the pooch yet again), Chelsea has been bad in general and with Costa out they will be missing the focal point of the attack. He just hasn't looked himself and until he starts to play better he is off the radar for me.

Not sure it's better or worse. If he misses out then I imagine Mbemba will move across with possibly Williamson (eek) coming in at CB. Mbemba is a better defender than Janmaat imo, and certainly won't spend the game in Chelsea's half. We don't actually have another specialist RB at the club. #topplanning

I really have a feeling he might tear it up this week but perhaps you are right in that it is a risk not worth taking. He doesn't seem to be that widely owned, at least among the fiso community with many opting for Sanchez and Pedro instead, so maybe just owning him will be reward for any haul will be reward enough. One to mull over, I think..

Hazard dropped...and this doesn't look like a fringe Chelsea team

Chelsea: Begović, Ivanović, Zouma, Cahill, Azpilicueta, Fàbregas, Ramires, Mikel, Willian, Pedro Rodríguez, Diego Costa. SUBS: Blackman, Baba, Terry, Hazard, Kenedy, Matić, Loftus-Cheek.

could be just fatigue, if anyone should be dropped it's Ivan. He's the worst defender in the league this year.

Not worried to see him named on the bench. In fact, I'm quite glad. Reduces the chance of any unwanted injury.

Not dropped, just rested. He's not been great so far this season, but he's still been one of Chelsea's better performers.

Just giving some squad players a start I think. No reason to worry if you own Hazard.

Given the situation they're in, I'm pretty sure Jose will field his strongest side, which I believe Pedro is part of

A little unfair on Pedro. Right now you could stick anyone into this broken Chelsea team, and they will turn to shit before you can say "the special one".

I'm pretty sure he'll play Ivanovic, in which case 'strongest side' doesn't really apply.

Sticking here, he's worth 200 plus points, when rather than if for me.

Agreed. He's been disappointing so far, but I'm yet to consider removing him at any point.
