Re: Captain Watch: How are your captain picks doing?
Got the 4,4,4,4 (Costa,Rooney,Rooney,Kun), yet probably wouldnt have done any different in hindsight
Team in my mini-league has had Dzeko (C) and Begovic (vc) since GW1 yet still sits 50pts ahead of me!
(Repeats the mantra "It's a marathon, not a sprint" )

Re: Captain Watch: How are your captain picks doing?
Scores of barely over 40 in four GW's tell the story.
In UFPL yesterday I ditched Aguero for Depay - result! (2 points)
A plump on Tadic would have yielded 34.
Next time I will think outside the box and go for something completely random.

I love this thread.
It's the equivalent of asking a woman her age.

Re: Captain Watch: How are your captain picks doing?
Could be an interesting look back at the season and effectiveness of captains
I did ok last season but convinced my captains let me down on more than one occasion. Doing the Kane/Aguero dance and missing the big points about 4 weeks in a row
I kept saying I will write these captain scores down somewhere so this thread as good a place as any (if I remember)

The stats are dark and full of errors.
Re: Captain Watch: How are your captain picks doing?
The average doubled captain score for the top 10k was something around 6 points if I recall correctly. So we're low but I don't know what peoples expectations are in terms of what they think their average should be.

Re: Captain Watch: How are your captain picks doing?
GW 1, Hazard, 4pts
GW 2, Rooney, 4pts
GW 3, Aguero, 4pts
GW 4, Aguero, 4pts
GW 5, Aguero, 2pts
I'm thinking of giving Sanchez the armband for GW 6 and hoping for an improved 6pt return, or alternatively might take a punt on Myhill who's consistently been my best performer so far this season...

I've always captained the most popular pick out of fear. Is it time to buck the trend?

I get the feeling that if I decide switch to a punty captain, it will be the week when 60% captain Agüero and he scores a hat trick.

Sods law mate! That's why I never have the balls; I'd end up captaining Mahrez the one week he blanks only for Aguero to bang in a hat-trick!Carlos Kickaball wrote:I get the feeling that if I decide switch to a punty captain, it will be the week when 60% captain Agüero and he scores a hat trick.

GW 1.... Walcott 2

GW 3.... Costa 20
GW 4....Aguero 4
GW 5....Aguero 2
Thank god for Diego in GW3, otherwise captaincy choices would be awful.

Aguero has gone and surpassed his best score for me and registered '2' instead. Looking back at this there is no way he should be let anywhere near the armband for the foreseeable although I'll probably panic and give it to him again anyway before the deadline
