Re: Which WBA defender?
Is this definitely happening? Latest rumours seem to be he's going to Sunderland.
Selfishly, I hope he doesn't go to WBA as it would be a bit annoying having just transferred in Evans

Re: Which WBA defender?
Enrique would be obvious gold in the Brom defence. Too obvious for my liking though. Getting Evans is my preferred option at the moment but it isn't a standout obvious move for the masses.

Definitely. No chance he has left the bench at Old Trafford to sit on one at the Hawthorns instead.pdhmobile wrote:Surely evans will be nailed? Im thinking about bringing him in during my wc this week.

Very annoying. He would have been great at that price and a probable bonus magnet.
I guess it's down to Evans at 4.8.
Do we know if Lindegaard has been signed to replace Myhill? That would be extremely annoying...

WestBrom defensive line
With Evans arriving at the club who do you think will play at the back?
They have a very favorable run after the internationals until November and should get some of those tasty CS.
12 Sep 15:00 Gameweek 5 Southampton (H)
19 Sep 15:00 Gameweek 6 Aston Villa (A)
28 Sep 20:00 Gameweek 7 Everton (H)
03 Oct 12:45 Gameweek 8 Crystal Palace (A)
17 Oct 15:00 Gameweek 9 Sunderland (H)
24 Oct 15:00 Gameweek 10 Norwich (A)
31 Oct 15:00 Gameweek 11 Leicester (H)
I just checked the ownerships and find it weird that apart from Myhill at 3.8 nobody at the back breaks the 1% mark. Am I missing something?

They've just had some pretty awful fixtures, so that would explain why so few WBA defenders are currently owned.GobiLux wrote:Am I missing something?

Evans is at least not being transferred in by the masses. No surprise really although personally I'd like wait a couple more games and see him start before committing.

Has anyone heard anything about Evans' potential injury per chance?

No, but it reminds me of the title of an Agatha Christie novel...Stemania wrote:Has anyone heard anything about Evans' potential injury per chance?

I doubt he will get an injury per chance, seems like quite a high rate.

Re: Which WBA defender?
Assuming Evans has been brought into be first choice... And that West Brom don't throw about £8m on defenders, like they have with Chester, without intending to play him.... Whose position is most under threat from Chester, is it McAuley or Dawson?
Chester can play either RB or CH, right? Or is he in there purely as back up and McCauley and/or Dawson are nailed?

Re: Which WBA defender?
When I looked at this earlier in the season, I concluded that MacAuley was the safer bet, but he's old and surely won't play every game and may not be there for much more than this season.
I'd not go with Dawson because I think he's a bit risky and Evans has better security and BP potential that is well worth the extra.

Re: Which WBA defender?
On paper, Evans looks to be a great prospect for 4.8m. However, I get the feeling he will frustrate with his injury issues. I'm just not convinced he can be relied on to stay fit. He has already hobbled off injured in his first game so that doesn't bode well. For me, it is a question of whether you want to take that risk or not.

Re: Which WBA defender?
I'll gladly accept the risk - Evans is not going to be one of my top 3 defenders, along with Gomez.

Re: Which WBA defender?
So I've finally discovered why Evans went off - I heard rumours of an injury, rumours of cramp, but:
It appears he actually had to go off with a dead leg and 'should' be back this weekend. Embarrassingly the best I can find is this article, with no actual quotes in it (which appears to be an exact replica of an article on Eurosport).

I haven't got the exact quote, but BBC suggested that Pulis said Evans was fit.
On the other hand, that's the way most Newport lads describe girls they consider attractive. Is Pulis married?

Anyone considering a WBA double block at the back?
Myhill and Evans for 9.3mil is soo tempting.

Re: Which WBA defender?
I am, have Dawson at the mo am thinking a back three of Dawson, Evans and Kolarov with Begovic in goal, I think thats the three best defences sorted on the cheap.
