Re: Who to bench thread 2015/16
Bench Schmeichel (SWA) or Mignolet (NEW)?
And where are we on Clichy and Iwobi? Clichy almost fit again but being prepared for Real? Iwobi might get a rest this weekend?

Re: Who to bench thread 2015/16
I wasn't really counting on him...
so did well to take a hit to swap out two without a game, or I'd have been left with Smith in the XI
(I had a plan to just upgrade him to Rose, and take no hit, before the Vardy ban forced me to walk a different path)
so I have 13 players with a game, but on my bench one's banned and the other injured... at least I had no dilemma

Do you have a second Arsenal defender? I'd probably play Daniels of you do, Gabriel if you don't.matmutte wrote:Daniels (CHE) or Gabriel (sun) ?

So, for me;
Playing Bellerin, Sakho, Simpson... benching Gabriel.
Playing Alli and Mahrez... benching Townsend.
Look about right?

No only Gabriel. I think Arsenal have a much better cs chance but Daniels could get one of his odd assist or pk.Notned wrote:Do you have a second Arsenal defender? I'd probably play Daniels of you do, Gabriel if you don't.matmutte wrote:Daniels (CHE) or Gabriel (sun) ?

Play 3 from Koscielny, Otamendi, Sakho and Morgan, but which 3?

Re: Who to bench thread 2015/16
I'd bench Sakho. Less attacking threat and less clean sheet potential, imo. And maybe even most likely not getting the full 90 mins (but don't know the story about Otamendi Mangala).Aldershot Rejects wrote:Play 3 from Koscielny, Otamendi, Sakho and Morgan, but which 3?

Yes, although funny enough I'll be faced with benching Gabriel or Townsend... Who would you bench out the two? I'm leaning towards benching Gabriel (us both and Arsene perhaps) and hoping for something from Townsend. What do you reckon?Notned wrote:So, for me;

Re: Who to bench thread 2015/16
Tough one that! I'd probably just about favour the attacker. Sunderland have improved lately, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Townsend get something. I can't remember if you have a second arsenal defender or not? That might make it easier if so.JVRB48 wrote:Yes, although funny enough I'll be faced with benching Gabriel or Townsend... Yes, I have Bellerin, so makes the choice a bit easier, I think.Notned wrote:Tough one that! I'd probably just about favour the attacker. Nervy week this, with Liverpool and Man City rotation risks, and not having Kane. Also dont want to take a hit to bring in Mane or Pelle, and another hit to take them out, but do fear a rout there and one of my ML rivals having braved it.
Next million dollar question for me to mull this morning is if Aguero > Kane is worth a hit this week? Kane guaranteed gametime, looking like he'll score in every game... Aguero surely likely to have limited gametime the next 2 games at least, although very much the player that can make such a decision look foolish in one game

Never transfer out Aguero unless he's injured.
And you want to be pretty sure about the injury too.
(taking him out on WC next week BTW)

Well my other options would be:
Alderweireld, Morgan or Clyne (definitely not benching any of my other midfielders)

Re: Who to bench thread 2015/16
Getting ahead of things but... Ouch! Looking like GW36 is filled with tricky decisions on who to bench.
Robles (BOU) or Darlow (CRY)? Play one of Clyne (swa), Azpi (TOT) and Simpson (mun). Bench one of Deeney (AVL), Townsend (CRY), Payet/Firmino/Mahrez...
At the moment benching Robles, Townsend, Azpi and Simpson but this is bound to hurt!

Re: Who to bench thread 2015/16
I've got to choose three from: Bellerin (NOR), Gabriel (NOR), Smalling (LEI), PVA (stk), Fuchs (mun)
And five from: Milner (swa), Mahrez (mun), Alli (che), Kane (che), Payet (wba), Martial (LEI). Sanchez and Aguero get a free pass.
Currently I'm thinking Mun-Lei could end up goalless, so Martial is on the bench (Milner or Martial might be rested and force my hand here). I can't imagine dropping my title chasers, and Swansea/WBA seem like good enough marks to field Milner/Payet. Still it seems odd to leave Martial on the bench at home.
In defence I currently have Bellerin plus Gabriel playing in the hope he plays 0 or 90 minutes. That wasn't true the first time he was dropped, but presumably Mert was easing back in. It's irritating that Wenger seemed to suggest he'd use Gabriel against the mobile strikers and Mert vs the bigger threats (can't remember the source), as surely Defoe counts as the former, but hey, I'm assuming we can't hope to predict his selections. I may have to abandon Gabriel as too risky, but in which case, who is alongside Bellerin? Smalling and Fuchs?

I would play Smalling, Bellerin and PVA.
I see Leicester failing to score at Man U, Bellerin is obvious, PVA for attacking threat.

if I decide to do Gabriel -> PVA or Creswell, then I will have a benching dillema:
Rose (che)
Smalling (LEI)
Simpson (mun)
Creswell/PVA (wba/sto)
I guess Simpson?

I have to bench one out of:
Alderweireld (che)
Fosu-Mensah (LEI)
Wollscheid (SUN)
assuming Clichy won't play because of the CL semi's.

I'm looking at benching two from: Alder, Bellerin, Huth, Cresswell & Daniels. Daniels is a given but unsure about the second. Also benching one of Defoe, Coutinho or Iwobi; not sure what to do there; instinct is Defoe.
Or I could do a transfer

Agree Simpson or Rose. Both teams have highly owned defenders, so both a risk to OR if benched.Joccki_10 wrote:Tough decision between Rose and Simpson I guess.tarkens wrote:if I decide to do Gabriel -> PVA or Creswell, then I will have a benching dillema:

I would bench Wollsheid. Stoke look dreadful at the moment defensively.

If you can live with not having Alder's attacking threat then it's him, because Chelsea want Leicester to win the league!Weisenwolf wrote:I'm looking at benching two from: Alder, Bellerin, Huth, Cresswell & Daniels. Tough one in attack. Probably Defoe, but I would see how many minutes Coutinho gets on Thursday. If it's more than 80 then bench him.
