He'll be a great enabler. Playing for Manchester United, he's bound to get the odd goal here and there.

If an attacking player has one touch in the box and a deep average position over 2 games, then that's pretty damning unless his role changes.

If a defence doesn't concede loads of big chances, including a game against 10 man Newcastle and Sunderland, then it's not a guarantee they'll be gold.

Some stats are more important and others. I'm surprised you haven't realised that.

I must say due to having no players in this game, the result & manner in which this result has come is brilliant.

I'm not so sure. I think Own Goal will continue stealing some of his points.

The ones that support the players in your team, perhaps? Are they the more important ones? What was that list of players you included with the Cabaye stats again?

he's right you know. Player's position on the pitch is far less random than chances created.

Does Ayew have better potential than Mahrez?

In terms of points scoring ability it would seem very much so, yes. But might depend on how you can use the extra funds elsewhere. I don't think you'd get much critisism if you owned both atm tbh. :D

Good question and I think I'd say not... Mahrez has pens and some set pieces and plays more advanced from the games I've seen.

I think Ayew is probably a better player and seems to find the right runs and space, but Leicester are a good attacking side right now, and Mahrez is significantly cheaper too.

Ride Mahrez to the bitter end (of Leicester's form) IMO and then a reassessment of premium plus Mahrez vs two 7.0 ish mids is due.

Ayew seems a way for me to get into the nice Swansea setup but I can only do that at the expense of Mahrez due to lack of flexibility in my side. I'll hold for a week or two and try to not make even more knee jerk reactions!

I would guess that you might get more points from a Kolarov/Ayew combo than a Yaya/Richards one though. That would be something I might consider aiming for in your position.

I would take Ayew, no set pieces is a small minus for a 7.1m midfielder who often ends up in the box with the forward at the end of moves. I suspect Mahrez will be a blight on people's teams eventually, as I don't think his points potential is really high enough to justify an attacking spot week in week out in your team; last year we had Sigurðsson at 6.0m and Mahrez and Leicester do not have the same prowess as Sigurðsson and Swansea.

Personally if I had Mahrez with his price still rising I would hold though, not a player to be selling right now and I think the Villa game could be high scoring, even though I am not in a rush to buy him.

I'm sorry, but I have absolutely zero sympathy for anyone who sold Mané before a home game against Norwich.

Sometimes you get what you deserve.
Pretty ridiculous comment considering he was due a price drop and was only 50/50 to play. Coupled with the fact that Southampton have looked extremely poor thus far this season i think the decision was right but the outcome was wrong
Yes, he was due to drop, and did. Plenty of us held him through his drop because we believed in his potential to score big against Norwich. As for being 50/50 to play, I think he was always likely to start today, given Koeman's comments after the Watford match ("Hopefully he will be good for Thursday") and the fact he was included in the squad on Thursday night. In addition, anyone who has actually watched Southampton's games would tell you how dangerous Mané was looking, despite failing to score, and Norwich are hardly a good defensive team, having conceded in all of their games so far this season.

So yeah, still no sympathy from me I'm afraid. :D
Including the end of last season and this season, Mane has been in my team for about 10 weeks with no attacking returns whatsoever. I'm normally patient but how long can you give an 8m priced player?

As for the game today, before Norwich had a player sent off, Southampton (and Mane) offered very little threat as they haven't done for several games. The sending off changed the game.
