FPL Fixtures and Results Grid 2015/16
Back for another year - hopefully useful to some.
Latest Copy: as at GW38
(edited 18/05/2016)
Same principle as previous years
(Last years thread & Last years completed grid)
(The printarea is set to fit everything on one page when printed).
Initial Team Rankings based on odds at Odds-Checker (17/06/15) and will be updated closer to the start of the season. Once the season is underway Rankings are then adjusted with results on a pro-rata basis.
(calc method outlined in a sheet in the spready)

Nice one... Thanks again for continuing to produce these RomynPG, I always use your spreadsheet at the start of the season for planning.

Thanks Romyn.
I use this as a base and reformat the core schedule for ease of processing in Excel. Anyone who at wants it can access it at http://www97.zippyshare.com/v/P6T6rHJK/file.html.

Re: FPL Fixtures and Results Grid 2015/16
First time I've seen it, thanks!
Would love to know if it's ever been filled in with last years scores before? (Substitute promoted for relegated). Red win, yellow draw, blue lose for example.
I wish I could magic a free day to do it! Perhaps I may be able to look at this next year...

Re: FPL Fixtures and Results Grid 2015/16
There's a link to last years completed grid in the op - which has colour coding on the scores (helps highlight cleansheets etc), and a WLD column. Might be close to what you are after? - although you'd still need to cross reference.gouldie7 wrote:Would love to know if it's ever been filled in with last years scores before? Nice idea though - where available show data from last years fixture (faded in some way).
That however opens up a whole can of worms. My base spreadsheet is in Excel 2000 and pulls it's data from an Access database (which is where I update scores and recalc ranking etc). This is all in a web of FISO/FPL databases and spreadsheets I've built up over the years ...it's a nightmare . There have been many great suggestions for improvements but until I move to something sensible it's a bit stuck where it is
Maybe this year is the year I sort it out ... but don't hold your breath

Re: FPL Fixtures and Results Grid 2015/16
Hey All,
I am reading this excel file, but I am still not understanding fully how to get the most out of it. Can someone please explain.
I am getting the basic idea behind the color coding, but still unsure.
Thank you.

Re: FPL Fixtures and Results Grid 2015/16
What are you looking to get out of it Ivan? The colour coding key is at the top and is pretty straightforward. Use it to identify which teams have a (statistically) good run coming up when making player transfers.

Re: FPL Fixtures and Results Grid 2015/16
So, from what I understand colour coding is a function of two things:
1. Odds before the start of the season
2. Current results in the season (The more you move into the season, the results carry a bigger weight factor in comparison to odds before the start of the season. Am I understanding this portion correctly?)
Now, I was thinking the excel sheet might be "pro-active", so every time I insert a score of the game, a certain colour will show up, but it doesn't seem to be that way. So when you say this sheet can be used to see which teams have a good run coming up, I am looking for the red colours (Hot), correct? But these colours can change if a team starts losing game after game?
Thanks,

Re: FPL Fixtures and Results Grid 2015/16
pretty much ... the sheet called "calc method" gives a detailed example.pfc_ivan wrote:So, from what I understand colour coding is a function of two things:

again that's pretty much it. The sheet has no code/formulas so isn't editable and the colours will change slightly as the season progresses.pfc_ivan wrote:Now, I was thinking the excel sheet might be "pro-active", so every time I insert a score of the game, a certain colour will show up, but it doesn't seem to be that way. Thanks,
I'd like to make it more interactive - enabling different rankings/calc methods - but that would have to be web-based rather than excel/access. Been trying to find time for that for years now - maybe I should have another look.
