Re: 'Called it' 2015/16
Really fancying Sakho as my third forward this year. Looked like he had the potential to be prolific when not injured last season, and now has Payet as a supply line. Also, his red card tonight and likely three game European suspension makes him a great call from the start. Removes the risk of rotation/fatigue post Europa league games.
Think he could be a steal at 6.5m.

Not going for the more obvious > £8 mil players
so on the sub £6.1 milli tip
VFM, BFTB = Bojan, Deeney, Richie

Staying clear of any obvious big hitters - no real skill in saying Aguero is going to have a great season
Lukaku - everton free from Europa league and Lukaku to start to come of age, 18+ league goals I reckon
Oxlade-Chamberlain - hopefully an injury free season, Walcott being used up front. Ox to make the right-wing spot his own
Also keeping an eye on Mahrez, Bolasie if he can get some consistency, I really like Depay and think he'll do well, Schweini to struggle though. I think Deeney will be the pick of the promoted players. I think he's a very good striker, and when I think of some of the prem defences who stayed up last year (newcastle, sunderland, villa) I think he is already better than them

I would join you with Lukako Ricardo, but their fixtures to start are goddamn awful, barring the 1st one.

Sorry, replied without even taking in the title of the thread, assumed we were talking about initial squads as per usual, doh.

Can you really 'call' Aguero?
If you wanna be brave and say Aguero will flop, then fair enough.

Re: 'Called it' 2015/16
Walcott if he stays fit could be great this season
Benteke should be even better at Liverpool
Sterling in attacking Man City team! Points magnet!
They are my three must haves, along with:
Hazard, fabregas, Costa.
The rest will be built around them!

Re: 'Called it' 2015/16
to do well
Harry Kane to score 20 goals again this season, Utd, Chelsea and others will bid 50m+ in the summer
Luke Shaw to establish himself as the best left back in the league (fitness permitting)
Mane will be one of the standout players and the next Southampton player everybody wants to sign
to not do well
Firmino to flop
Rodgers to be sacked before end of season
One of Villa or Newcastle to be relegated

Also, Walcott to shine until a ~GW10 injury.
Southampton will surprise everyone again with a top 4 rank by Christmas.
Depay to constantly "almost score", thus frustrating FPL managers.
As for FPL value, perhaps Wijnaldum?

Good shout on that. Could turn out to be a CK, and an awkward price point from a FF POV, but his record at PSV looks good.

Think both he and De Jong may well smash it at some point this season. Luckily their fixtures are off-putting enough to begin with to give us chance to weigh up which one looks best, before making any move.quarky wrote:"As for FPL value, perhaps Wijnaldum?"

Re: 'Called it' 2015/16
I don't think it's even clear that De Jong will start every game atm - in the friendlies we've played 4231 and really both are suited to the central role behind the striker. If De Jong does play it seems Wijnaldum will be damaged by being pushed into the 'Fabregas role' in the '2' with Colback being the ginger Matic. In recent friendlies Anita has gotten a lot of minutes and has played very well as the holding mid at the expense of De Jong, and that more defensive lineup (or the same thing with Tiote if he stays in place of Anita) might be the plan against the stronger sides. Neither Wijnaldum or De Jong appear to be on many set pieces (with Colback monopolising the corners and at least indirect freekicks - I can't remember seeing a direct one with all on the pitch) so neither is the ideal 6-7m 'next-Siggy' candidate.Notned wrote:Think both he and De Jong may well smash it at some point this season. To be frank we've looked poor in the friendlies in what has been a terribly disjointed travel-filled preseason in which we've really only seen a near full strength lineup once (today). The defence is still completely in transition and is a mess with Coloccini/Dummett (and Tiote) having missed every friendly through injury and Mbemba arriving too late to be fully integrated. I think we'll be much improved this year, but we might have to wait a fair few weeks to see it happen.

I'm surprised Finisher1 hasn't been along yet to tell us how stupid this thread is because FPL is not about "I knew it first."
