Re: Hazard's Teeth
Mourinho says he hopes Hazard will play but he’s not sure. Sigh.

Re: Hazard's Teeth
I have a weak bench so think I probably should use my transfer to swap him out for Mata (can't afford YYT).

Re: Hazard's Teeth
Having had the extremely unpleasant experience of four wisdom teeth removed last year I would be extremely surprised if he is fit on Sunday. Of course he is ten years my junior and everyone reacts differently to wisdom tooth extraction, but I was on antibiotics and other medication for a few weeks and was not able to eat properly for weeks. I'm also pretty sure exercise is not recommended for the first week after removal. Not really conducive for playing top level professional football.

Re: Hazard's Teeth
That quote sounds about 70/30 in favour of him not playing I would say.

Re: Hazard's Teeth
An infection sounds pretty bad! The majority of people I don't think would get one when having wisdom teeth removed, and it should be even less likely if you're young and fit. Not so confident he'll play now, I am thinking I may upgrade my non playing defender, hang on, and just hope he does.

Re: Hazard's Teeth
No idea what to do. I've currently got Boyd coming off the bench if Hazard doesn’t make it.
Can’t he just pop a few painkillers and play? Is that a thing?

Re: Hazard's Teeth
That's what I had suspected, that he'll pop a few pain killers, or even get more specialist treatment. But if he's got an infection he could possibly have problems with things like swelling, fever, and bleeding. I have such a decent defensive transfer to make, so I may just gamble and hope that Hazard plays, or that I get something like Larsson scoring in a Stamford Bridge party game, or a Bertrand assist against Man City; stranger things have happened.

Re: Hazard's Teeth
Infection probably means dry socket. Not very pleasant!
Even without an infection I didn't think he would be fit to play. Wisdom tooth extraction would generally mean swelling and probably bleeding during the first few days. The pain can be excruciating. If he has an infection/ dry socket then I'd say there is close to zero chance he'll be fit.

Re: Hazard's Teeth
Yep. I don't see what there is to be gained from him playing with nothing at stake. With painful/swollen gums and mouth an elbow in the face from somebody or the ball hitting him in the face would really hurt, could cause heavy bleeding and possibly aggravate the infection. Pointless risk. It would be sensible to bench him and then maybe bring him on near the end of the game so he can be on the pitch at the final whistle for the celebrations. That is what I would do anyway but if Hazard insists on playing then I guess he could still start.Stower79 wrote:Infection probably means dry socket. Not very pleasant!

Re: Hazard's Teeth
I'm sure there was something where Jose said hazard wants to keep his 100% premier league starts. I think that ultimately it may be hazards own call.
I really hope he plays because I also have fabregas.

Re: Hazard's Teeth
I could barely get off the couch for two weeks after having three wisdom teeth out followed by an infection. It's less the pain that's a problem - although it took codeine to sort mine - but the shaking, sweating dizziness that means I doubt he'll be fit.
However, my head also looked like a butternut squash so I'd be interested to see him...

Oh, and I have two mini leagues in the bag, and the 3rd I'm ahead by 13. He has Silva. This is obvious for me, yeah?

Re: Hazard's Teeth
that's the problem, I kept Hazard and upgraded 5th mid Ameobi to Puncheon, thinking that Edental would play only if "decently" fitDanCaek wrote:I'm sure there was something where Jose said hazard wants to keep his 100% premier league starts. I think that ultimately it may be hazards own call.

Now with Haz in the XI and Punch 1st sub my worry is that he'll play less than 60' only to sign the presence sheet, leaving points on my bench....

I'd say so. I'm in a similar position, leading in one league by 17, and I'm probably making the same move pending any more news.doctoremma wrote:Oh, and I have two mini leagues in the bag, and the 3rd I'm ahead by 13. He has Silva. This is obvious for me, yeah?

Re: Hazard's Teeth
Hazard has been subbed off in earlier games Joona, earlier in the season he got a CS when Chelsea conceded after he was subbed.
With Larsson being fit and having set pieces, and having a non playing defender and currently likely to have to play Bertrand or PvA, I think I am going to stick to my current plan of Wollscheid Kolarov. Hope for the best, and if Hazard plays 60+ mins and scores, I'll consider this debacle to have been to my advantage, if he has a cameo I'll just consider myself unlucky.

Re: Hazard's Teeth
He's not going to play. There's absolutely no need to play him even if he was 100% fit. He's got his POTY award, he'll join the lap of honour tomorrow and that will be that.

Wont it be hard to lap with swollen gums?
I think he'll probably just use a straw.

This is driving me dental. Will we know any better tomorrow ? I'm hovering over the trigger but how will we know any more tomorrow before deadline than we do now?
