Polls aren't often right even if it's a clear frontrunner. One player only needs to be outscored by one player out of roughly 220 (inc keepers and more if you add subs) for it to be wrong. Really it's surprising if they're right more than a few times a season.

Many people also captain tactically not to risk losing ground and for other reasons, so it's not always the case that they pick their 'best captain' choice for a particular week anyway. They often answer the poll with their own captain choice, whatever the poll's question asks as well.

As stated early on, I'm surprised Giroud got so little consideration considering his excellent form and good home fixture. I think the 2 of us who voted for him against the mass vote for Aguero can give ourselves a pat on the back tonight

I know, but the focus of the discussion was really between Aguero, Hazard and Sanchez (I'm not saying that's right just that that's what happened). My post was more a comment on the failure of almost all of the big names to do anything this week, it was a really poor showing all round.

I don't wanna be that guy, but I very nearly switched to Giroud Saturday morning, but bottled it and stayed with the crowd. Easy to say now though, hindsight is a wonderful thing and all that...

At least it was a low scoring week all round, so no real ground was lost. One of the benefits of going with the flock, I guess.
