Who To Bench Thread 2014-15
It's that time of the year again folks!
I'm rolling with
Begovic
Chester/Terry/Chambers (didn't want him but struggling for solid 4.5 choices)
Mata/Hazard/Young/Ramsey
Bojan/Rooney/Costa
My bench has Siggy, Caulker, Coloccini and Giks
Question is, is it wise to play Chester over Caulker with QPR at home?
Also figured I'd play Siggy next week and rotate with Bojan possibly.

Myhill, Wisdom, Coloccini, Sigurdsson on the bench for GW1.
I also intend to rotate Siggy with Bojan.

All my budget chimps, Wisdom Marney and Bruce/Hutton, can't decide whether I want Bruce or Hutton

I wouldn't play chester over caulker. At the end of the day if you're gonna pay a premium of 0.5m to have caulker (over other qpr defenders) and you don't play him in a home game against a mediocre team, then why get him in the first place?

I benched Naismith, and will perhaps regret that, but with the other seven attackers I have he did not have a chance.

I need to play two out of Taylor (BUR), Chester (STK), Hutton (NEW), Debuchy (eve). Thoughts? Currently leaning towards Taylor and Chester

Taylor and Chester I'd say were the standout candidates there.asm_fanz wrote:I need to play two out of Taylor (BUR), Chester (STK), Hutton (NEW), Debuchy (eve). Thoughts? Currently leaning towards Taylor and Chester
I've just got one to consider, but i think it's a tough on, Debuchy (eve), or Coloccini (avl)?

Debuchy's touch map in the first game was amazing. He was waaaay up the wing. I can see attacking returns from him in the not to distant future, and seeing as it's hard to predict which specific game they'll come in, I'm going to play him every week.

Bojan hul, Debuchy eve and Duff swa on the bench
Sigurdsson BUR > Bojan hul
Wilson hul > Debuchy eve
Taylor BUR > Duff swa
Could also change Debuchy in and Wilson to the bench but it's highly unlikely.

Because Arsenals defensive record is better than Newcastles, so it may make up for the worse fixture.fred1266 wrote:Debuchy why would even consider benching ColCarlos Kickaball wrote:Taylor and Chester I'd say were the standout candidates there.asm_fanz wrote:I need to play two out of Taylor (BUR), Chester (STK), Hutton (NEW), Debuchy (eve). And this, though I'd be surprised if he went forward as much against Everton.BobMem wrote:Debuchy's touch map in the first game was amazing. He was waaaay up the wing. Re: Who To Bench Thread 2014-15
Is it worth playing Bojan against Hull? (Comes down to Bojan vs Ashley Young)
backline is:
collocinni/terry/chester
chambers/caulker on bench. Okay move?

I'd probably play Young as Hull seem pretty solid, especially at home. But you should really have planned to avoid this choice.

I didn't want to do a -4 so soon (already took out Mata) so I'm gonna wait for next week and take him out.Sutter Kane wrote:I'd probably play Young as Hull seem pretty solid, especially at home. But you should really have planned to avoid this choice.

Hutton - Newcastle (H)
Taylor - Burnley (H)
Jones - Sunderland (A)
Realistically I won't bench Jones, Taylor has a good fixture but not sure if he will start or last 60 minutes.

I'd play Taylor. If he's dropped then he is very likely to stay dropped and not come on. If he plays then I don't see why he'd come off - he came off because he was struggling against a particular player (and was on a yellow?) rather than because of fitness or some issue you that might be expected to re-occur.

Re: Who To Bench Thread 2014-15
Taylor won't play Januzaj every week and IMO he's first choice . Tiendali simply not as good. The spot seems Taylor's to lose and Monk obviously values him or he wouldn't have been that concerned about the second yellow

Re: Who To Bench Thread 2014-15
I've noticed you're very punchy with your opinions, probably to excess. Is worrying about a yellow card an 'obvious' sign that Monk values Taylor (presumably to avoid losing him to suspension?) or could it plausibly be the case that he was worried Taylor was going to pull out of tackles out of fear/ worried that Swansea would be down to 10 men for the current game?Billy Bongo wrote:Taylor won't play Januzaj every week and IMO he's first choice . Starting midfield and attack is set in stone.
Which 2 defenders miss out this week (/which 3 should start)?
Debuchy, Jones, Davies, Coloccini, Wisdom

Re: Who To Bench Thread 2014-15
Who to bench on defence among Chester, N. Taylor, Clyne and Jones? Not too worried about Taylor being subbed on the weekend. Leaning towards benching Jones at this point. Thoughts?
