FPL Fixtures and Results Grid 2014/15
Back for another year - not as prompt as previous years - oh my old bones - hopefully useful to some.
Latest Copy: as at GW35
(edited 07/05/2015)
Same principle as previous years
(Last years thread & Last years completed grid)
(The printarea is set to fit everything on one page when printed).
Initial Team Rankings based on odds at Odds-Checker (11/08/14) and will be updated closer to the start of the season. Once the season is underway Rankings are then adjusted with results on a pro-rata basis.
(calc method outlined in a sheet in the spready)

The stats are dark and full of errors.

Hi
I was looking for this, great timing thanks lol!
Just a quick question and feel free to tell me to PO obviously, but would it be possible to stick it up on Google Docs also? that way when there's an update it'll not necessitate everyone downloading a new file (unless they really want a local copy) - it'll just update the version they have bookmarked / linked. (plus it would be more accessible to those without excel )
Love the work and i find the grid *really* useful so many thanks.

I could be wrong but I don't think the conditional formatting functionality of Google docs is good enough to match those available on Excel.HungryHungrySuarez wrote:Hi

Nice work and thanks for sharing.
Would it be possible to also show the rating on each of the fixtures rather than just the colour?

Re: FPL Fixtures and Results Grid 2014/15
Thank you much. Saved much a boat load of time.
FWIW, I have utilized this as a base and made a simple 20 x 38 matrix (with a header row and column) with just team name and "@" is on the road. I am happy to share that to anyone who needs it for any fancy Excel tricks.

Re: FPL Fixtures and Results Grid 2014/15
RomynPG - thanks very much for sharing, always interesting to compare this to personal opinions / rankings.
One question (apologies if this has been asked in previous years) - is this the actual colour allocation manual or formula driven? If the latter, any chance you'd mind sharing ... thought being that it would be great to be able to play with those rankings based on opinion & see the changes driven straight into the chart.
If not, will have a play & see if I can put something on here.
Also curious if yourself and/or others have played with the home/away weighting for specific clubs, e.g. Crystal Palace, Stoke, and impact on the chart, and any challenges faced in doing so?

The second tab of the spreadsheet should answer most of your questions I think.

Re: FPL Fixtures and Results Grid 2014/15
- Understand that this covers the calculation method - what I was actually wondering was whether RomynPG had then created the formula to create this difference rating by selecting the relevant team cross-reference & perhaps applied conditional formatting on the result to create colours ... if so, was hoping to leverage this existing back-end work rather than doing myself! The second tab of the spreadsheet should answer most of your questions I think.
Interesting in creating something that will give live, *pretty* colour changes if you play with the back-end rankings table, to then update into a formula & then conditional formatting (or other) in the front-end graph.
Have a week to myself with the wife & monkey away soon, and working out how much time I can justifiably invest in spreadsheet fun ...

Re: FPL Fixtures and Results Grid 2014/15
Thanks for doing this and sharing it, saves me a lot of work.
I also just use it for the raw data, and then have gone off into my own world of formulae and conditional formatting, several hours wasted so far

Nice work.
Just as an Excel tip, if you're like me and you prefer to have the team on the left, with that team's fixtures running along a row (as opposed to down each column), you can copy all the cells > paste > transpose and it'll flip it around so that the teams are down column A and that team's fixtures run along rows.
