Dropping the big bold orange topic on each reply would be good especially as the topic header appears above the post listing.

My thought whenever anything like this happens is "imagine how confused Pa would have been" with a little :(
How about a moving avatar so my sheep appears to be bouncing across the post!

Seriously, avatar to left was good, now to ditch the nasty big, orange repeated post titles.

I feel more like pa every day

I'd reiterate that - if the problems mentioned in this thread are remedied I think it will have been a great success all things considered. The BBC website has been catastrophically ruined over the years with this tablet-friendliness malarchy that's sweeping the internet like ebola, but on this occasion the damage seems very limited as tabletifications go (so long as the margins are fixed etc) and the functional changes made all seem very good indeed.

One final unrelated thing, is there anyway that recognition of these ''emoji'' character things can be included in the script for the posts. They keep appearing everywhere and it would be nice to see what emotion they are supposed to represent - not FISO's fault that it's never been included by any means, but it seems a natural time to add it if possible.

I've added a list of issues to the first post in this thread. Any mod can add to it or update it but please check if your issue is already listed so that any new ones aren't missed.

FPL web addresses under avatars

I'm not sure if I'm getting used to it but I'm living with it now. Still can't say I've found a positive change though.....

File size for posting images has always been 500kb

You sure?
I have a couple of over 1mb that I have posted
I've increased the limit from 500kb to 1mb.

Tapatalk should really be added to the list too I think. And...
Stemania wrote: In all seriousness, the page numbers are way too small on mobiles when looking at the list of threads.
...maybe it's just me, but on my mobile the clickable page numbers alongside each thread are very tricky to hit. I don't really see why we need the option to choose either the first page, or any of the last five is necessary when there is a button for skip to unread posts anyway. to me it would be better with only the last three or so (+ the first) and bigger buttons for each.
Stemania wrote: also, there doesn't seem to be a quick reply option on the mobile sight, which kindof seems to defeat the whole point of it.
On this, it turns out that it is there on my mobile. What confused me is that it doesn't seem to be an option for every thread. For example, I have no quick reply option for this thread, but I do for threads in the fpl subforum. Is there a reason for that?

It's a setting on each forum. I've now enabled it for this forum. Let me know if it needs enabling for any other forums.

They didn't used to be (did they?) - At least not a full, garis,h orange web address. Didn't it used to be a discrete 'button' somewhere?

Just adds to the clutter under our avatars that makes all posts take up a load of space even if one word answers.

I read murf's comment as "there used to be FPL buttons which just said 'FPL', now we have to see the whole URL under the avatar"

actually it helps to highlight those who botched it, or put a mock link there

I had been half-hoping instead that the FPL link info could be added THERE too: memberlist.php  :rankiejunkie:

It did used to have its own button but with the style change the reply etc. buttons are more discreet now. The FPL was (obviously) a specific FISO thing so I suppose it's possible they could be added back in...

Or maybe it could be a button on the avatar panel. I'll add it to the list.

Cheers, works now.

To test it I have one other tiny thought. Speaking of the avatar panel, the 'Contact' button in the avatar strikes me as really odd. You press it just for the options to pm/email/visit website appear over by the report and quote buttons. Why not just include links to any of these instead of the speech bubble next to 'Contacts'? I guess it's a mobile/tablet thing where the avatar doesn't have the same form and it makes more sense, but on the pc it's just bizarre.

I deleted my mock link! (wasn't funny after the original mock link to Fantasy Porn Lotto, or whatever it was, broke)

Yes there were a number of fiso specific modifications that we made to the standard phpbb forum software and over time these will be added back in (if still needed).

indeed I was noticing that Brightwater for instance (the one I recalled) has "check my WWW button" in his location, now there's no button, but the Contact icon will open a "caption" with the 3 link icons in the topright corner of the post

He'll have to edit his Location message

I've just changed the thread title as well to make it more obvious for those not yet on the scene.

Yep, often went to Bramernic's website this way and used the www button myself when promoting sidegames via my location (no idea if it worked and anyone ever looked via that route....)

EDIT - Clicking 'contact' now opens options on the right hand side of the screen (probably made more sense when the avatar and text was that side) - still want the single click PM button back please.

I'm far from an expert on it, but as mentioned a few times in the first few pages of this thread it's just stopped working. That's my technical analysis.

When I try to access FISO through Tapatalk I get the message "Failed to connect to the forum. Please check with the forum administrator if the problem persists".

I tried reinstalling Tapatalk with the latest update and re-entering my details - it has the same error message as before for me except now I sometimes also get

"Expected: START_TAG {null}methodResponse (position:START_TAG <html dir='ltr' lang='en-gb'>@2:30 in java.io.InputStreamReader@41f5d468)"

when I try to sign in.

At the top right of each forum page or the homepage is your username. Click on that and then on the UCP link that comes up. Then on the UCP go to Profile where you will see edit avatar.

Looked at the other tabs on Tapatalk and they're all empty so clearly none of that works now.

One thing I'm trying to find: the old "board preferences" (or some such) option where you could choose which subforums you can see in the "new topics" list. At present I can see everything but would like to exclude things like "Health and Fitness" ;)

I'm generally happy with the layout - good work to all concerned. One problem for me though is the general "brightness" of the colours. I managed 20 minutes on a laptop at work and my eyes started to feel tired, but after just 10 minutes at home on a 22" monitor I'm stuggling a bit. (Sorry)

That's the sort of error I get to.

On the plus side the archaic IE installation at work didn't mind new FISO

From list of topics on "new posts", could the thread title be made to stand out more? At present, they don't really jump out, which they did on the previous version.

Overall, not that impressed although it's a lot better than another forum I visit which went through the same process! I've use FISO on a PC, a laptop, an iPad and a phone and never had any problems with the way it was displayed.

As Sport Billy said in an earlier post just happy to have a good forum, only thing that's not great is you can't see who posted last in recent topics when using an iPhone.
