You can click the envelope symbol to go the first unread post but it is tiny and I only have a 50/50 success rate so far and I don't have fat fingers like some......
I don't see an envelope on my iPhone, just two small square boxes next to the thread creation date, but they don't do anything if pressed?
I think I did have the envelope on my iPad at home however.

Generally I think this looks a lot nicer than before, but I like tapatalk as it's an app hence always easy to get to rather than having to flick through several open web tabs.[/quote]

Yep, after double checking, on iPad on active topics , on the right hand side there is a square with an arrow on it which takes me to latest post.
On the iPhone that icon is not there :|

What do all of the things down the left do (circles with text, lightbulb etc)?

I quite like the update tbh as I generally only ever view FISO on my phone these days. It's better than tapatalk on my HTC m8. I use chrome as my browser and I've just added the 'new posts' link to my home screen. Works just like an app now. One click and I'm on. Simple. 8-)

Why? Just press back, no? :?
er..., yes, but I found it handier, and I found out now that I have to press "back" 2 or 3 times, when I had multiple Previews before canceling

it was just a kind request, you see I insulted no one this time, so it's not anything serious
I didn't even realise there was a "back" button on the old version. I sort of wish a few more posters would a) use the preview option before posting and b) decide against posting on review occasionally. ;)

:) the "back" I'm referring to now is the one of the browser
I preferred to use the "Cancel" button in the post Editor (Preview-Submit-Cancel) rather than just going "back" with the browser
:)

I have to say, I used it when quoting something from another topic... i opened Edit to copy the contents without losing the formatting... then Canceled and went to the topic where I wanted to paste it...

I'll just find my new MoSesque way without the Cancel now :)

While I do like the recent updates much more than the first one that was rolled out, I still have a few minor suggestions (if they're even possible with the software):

- Page numbers of threads would be better alongside the thread title rather than away to the right. On bigger monitors, I almost have to trace along the line to check which list of pages is for which thread.
- Less options in the thread page numbers. Do we really need the first and last 5 pages as options?

For the above suggestions, I like how the Sunderland Message Board does it: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/forums/pure-football.86/, i.e. ... [2] [3] [4]

Actually, I like what they do with user/avatar info in each post too, i.e. simply a picture and name which links to the other info in a kind-of pop-up.

Things are looking a lot better now with the removal of the white space at the sides (I'm a laptop user). Colour contrast also seems a lot better or is it that I am just getting used to it?

Well done guys!

I appreciate that you are listening to our feedback.I am glad to see more contrast now and it makes it easy to discern posts.

But one thing is still missing. Contrast between THREADS that have a new post since you last visited it! Please improve this and I will be relatively content with this change :)

Just looked at the New Posts page and over 30 of the latest 49 threads were from sub-forums I'd previously "blocked". This aspect of the upgrade is an absolute disaster for me.

UCP_PREFS_INDEX is the broken option under user control panel. If this can be fixed then board preferences should be restored.

Had a little look around and it seems ok. Much like sted I'm sure I will get used to it in time.

Just a couple of points though.

I navigate using "View New Posts" which used to be a single press of a button at the top of the page whereas now I have to click twice to complete the same operation - can this be reinstated?

When on the "View New Posts" page all the topics seem to merge into one and the appearance of the page is indistinct. Is there any way of giving the page more definition to make the topic titles stand out more?

The user box to the left of the page (on my pc) seems very big and appears to be determined by the amount of text in the users' FPL link, is there a maximum size for this or could the user info take over the whole page? I think that the user info should be kept to a minimum.

Otherwise it looks fine and is certainly easier to use on my mobile.

Agree with this totally. Is there a way to tailor the sub forums we see in the 'View New Posts'?

I've no interest whatsoever in thread after thread of geeky FPL discussion.

Thanks

Can't enter Goals predictions. Can only type 1 number in, and then nothing else. Maybe should try at home, instead of while I'm sat at work.

If you go onto a specific board (i.e. TFF) you see last post under the thread title plus the same details in a separate column to the right - not ideal

If you go to New Posts it shows OP details under thread title then last posted details to the right - correct

plus:

Board index shows last visit / it is currently date & time at the top of the screen whereas individual boards (checked TFF/New Posts) are missing this info

Assume browser and make/os of phone should not affect this?

These are fairly minor issues - best to get the side games working as expect more people to visit FISO over the coming days as Prem matches are back

PM sent. Refresh does nothing but I could enter fine by tabbing through.
